Single Player how long?

Hi all,

A friend of mine said the single player is to short. Just wondered if anyways know how long it is?

I completed regular in 6 hours and vet in 5. I dunno why but i found regular harder than vet lol

Only done it on veteran and according to the stats thing, took me 7 hours and 10 mins, so compared to the veterans on the other ones, its like pie...easy.

Depends on how much you would play per day, i did the first coupls of lvls in about 30-45 mins one night and then sat down and did the rest of it in 6 hours 30mins straight the next night.

5 hours on normal and 8 hours on vet.
But special ops will take as long if not longer.

Took me about 6 hours or so on regular.

I daren't even try hardened let alone veteran as Im crap.

Is there really much of a difference between regular and Vet ?

yup, veteran your dead in 2 bullets, regular you can basically run through the levels!

Under 5 hours on regular for me. A bit of a joke. I knew that the focus would be on MP, but to neglect the single player side is a bit poor.

Bought, completed and sold the game in 48 hours!!

was NOT impressed with the single player at all!!
5 hours on reg, 7 on hardened and 6 hours on vet!

I take it you didn't try Spec Ops? I've had as much fun on that as with the SP campaign.

About 5h on regular, now about to embark on hardened.

I'm guessing that the 20h that the developer claim is a cumulative total for all of the single players campaign levels (regular, hardened and vet).

did hardened in 4hours something which i felt was a bit short however not sure if i can be bothered to do veteran yet as not looking forward to favela on it as i found this the hardest part

Favelas not that bad its the levels were you cant even see the people shooting at you that are the hardest! I spent most of the time hiding behind things.

its a shockingly short single player, it took me only 4hr 30min to complete on regular, was a good 4hr while it lasted though

Was around 8/8.5 hours on Vet for me.

Never tried on a lower level, so no idea how much shorter it would have been.

Went back to collect all 45 intel, which took about another 2hours going through each level again (but did this on reg to make it easier)

Yeah I played a bit of it. Got up to the 3rd level (Charlie), but just got bored of dying over and over or failing missions.

It's a weird game. It's strangely dull to play, despite all the mayhem on screen. I didn't feel involved at all. The only missions I really enjoyed were the stealthier ones with less enemies. As soon as everyone started opening fire, it got stale really quickly.

I really enjoyed COD4, this seems like a totally different game somehow

overall i dont think all the hype was justified in the slightest, single player is poor! i didnt feel part of the game at all at n e difficulty level.
Even tho i lisrtend to every cut scene i had no clue what was going on with my characters and the point of them being where they were etc.
The last missions is a f***ing joke, did they really end the game by making you throw a kinfe at someone?!?!?! it was very abbrupt and if i paid rrp for this i would of been very angry!
Even tho i love the MP and Spec Ops aspects of the game i think its disgusting that they have put in such a poor effort at SP considering its a big part of the game... and this was ment to be game of the decade etc etc!
i really wonder where they put all thier R and D budget?? so they made the levels more linear....great!! now ill just shoot them higher up!
overall i dont think it made much improvment on COD 4 and cant really see me hanging onto this too long even tho im a massive COD fan, shame on u IW, i was expecting so much more

I finished it in under five hours on Recruit, then whacked it up to Veteran and finished it in about six hours.

agreed as above in a way, i think the single player is way way way too short and clear as daylight, it is a multiplayer game, the single does suffer from it. however i dont think its that bad, its just.... "alright" nothing at all special, but not shocking, the main issue i have is the simple fact that i pootled through it not really beasting it and finished in 4 hours odd... that is way too short for a game that could be upto or over £49.99... thank god i paid £26.

great game, but alittle short of the hype i think

I think the game is well worth £50. Many of us on here will probably still be playing this in 2 years time!
Getting it for £30 was a major bargain as far as im concerned

11 hrs 46 minutes and 38 seconds on veteran, i think the game is well worth its money, so much i have 2 copies, why you ask! just in case

A few minutes under 5hrs on regular and i'm about 4 hrs in on veteran and have completed about 60% of it. It is short but after playing through almost twice i think quality>quantity.

So glad I didn't pay full price for what I suspected and I now think is an 'extended map pack add on' for COD4.

The spec-ops is good but only a half hearted effort by IW I think. There's absolutely no reason why the levels couldn't be done by up to 4 on-line players with the number of enemies scaling as required. IW need to look at Treyarch's zombie game to see how it should be done

The single player is shockingly short and easy. I agree with mc_chuckles basically
