Re: MW2 Best Pit times

Think i got mine down to about 32, it very hard though, use the pistols it helps alot.

Is there an achievement for getting the best time or not? (as there was in MW).

Re: MW2 Best Pit times

29secs -2.5 =26.5 for accuracy ! is mine !

it did take me like 10 times to do this though,

quick tips, drop the assualt rifile and pick the auto pistol and also pickup the m9 as it has more rounds in the mag.

start off with the auto pistol and then switch to the pistol, u only need one shot to knock the target to dont spray to much , try to line up more than one target to you can shoot both with one burst, ie like on the roof and the last 2 enemies before you run through the gate

hope this helps

Re: MW2 Best Pit times

I did a 29.something, think it was 29.05. Took me ages though, kept making small slips and getting low 30's, which was frustrating. Maybe old age is finally catching up with me?

Re: MW2 Best Pit times

I loved the F.N.G. range on COD4 and I love The Pit.

Had a few blasts tonight, got a few in the 22 and 23 second range but I couldn't manage a perfect run, this is my best effort so far.

Over the line in 26.25
accuracy bonus -7.5

Final time 18.75

YouTube - Modern Warefare 2 The Pit fast time

Love how the targets pop up in random positions, means the course is slightly different every time you play it.

29.72 using the UMP .45 & M9... Admittedly it took me the best part of an hour to achieve this with a starting time of 45secs lol

Can you get the achievement by doing it solo in the Special Opps mission does anyone know or does it have to be through the campaign? Getting to it and doing that range bit first is annoying but I don't want to go sub 30 then have to do it again because the achievement doesn't count in special ops?

32 seconds so far btw

Campaign achievement only. I'm not sure how you could get it sub 30 secs in Spec Ops because you don't get time bonuses for accuracy like you do in the campaign level. I'd love to see someone do that though!

I used the M9 and then switched to the Desert Eagle as I ran up the stairs and only reloaded it as I dropped down for the the last area to get a time of 28.25 secs. It felt like I was walking around for that go, so I'm sure I could get it faster by running more, but I can't be bothered now that the achievement has unlocked...

Ditto, started out with an appalling 1minute+ time and stopped once I beat 30 seconds. As for spec ops, you can do it in coop and take a side each making it pretty easy. Think I did it in spec ops on the 3rd try.

Why is it I find this type of thread a bit sad? I've been 'gaming' for 30 years and love it but these gaming 'phissing contest' threads bug me.

Isn't the whole point of multiplayer and leaderboards and even achievements to have some competition. It gives a point to something. Competition is good, competion makes these games much more interesting. Let me guess, you didn't do so well?

my advice for attempting a sub 30sec time is to take a MP5 or a UMP as they have a good clip and mobility and the M9 pistol

Take out the first 3 sets with your MP5 / UMP, don't forget the baddies on the top of the building.

Now as you enter the building switch to M9 and you'll have enough bullets to take out the remaining tango targets. Not once will you have to reload so long as you are accurate

28.4 in campaign - which I think equates to about 2.5metres in p!$sing contest terms.

Took me log enough though.

Twin pistols and lining up 2 targets for one bullet.

I would have done it within 1/2 hr but managed to send a bullet through 2 targets and into a civvie on the homeward stretch and finished with a penalised 31.2. I paid the price for that as it took me another 1 1/2 or so hours.

I'd like to think that this thread is more of a source of advice than some sort of strange contest.

In fact, I'd like to add to the advice I gave earlier about using the M9 and Desert Eagle. As I said before when I got the time under 30 secs, it really did feel like I was slowly walking around the course, but that just shows how important the accuracy bonuses are that you get at the end. The key to accuracy is how many bullets you use. Although the targets move in a random cycle, there are at least 2, or maybe 3 times (if the targets are in the right place) where you can line them up and use 1 bullet to shoot through and down 2 targets. You can shoot 2 targets with 1 bullet when you go inside the building - on your right at the foot of the stairs. When you get to the top of the stairs you can sometimes get a 2 for 1 offer too, and often the last 2 targets of the pit can be downed together. The bonuses for shooting 2 targets with 1 bullet are huge, so that would be my top tip for unlocking the achievement.

Wow! Some of you guys are spending hours on a 30 second "mission".

I did it once and got something like 45 seconds.
That'll do for me, can't be bothered doing it over and over just for the sake of an achievement or better time.

It took me about 10 minutes repeating the course to unlock a very easy achievement, but I'm sure the other guys will appreciate your "advice"...

I didn't offer any "advice"

Just my perspective on a part of a game.
My mistake, I thought forums permitted users to voice their own opinion
