Whats Your MW2 PING?

When searching for matches it tells me its looking for games with a ping of 100ms, obviously id prefer a ping of sub 100ms but until my interleaving is switched off it will have to do.
As long as im matched with people who are the same its not a problem and touch wood every game so far has been lag free.
Whats your MW2 ping?

Mine always says the same,100ms ping.And i know my ping isnt that high

I'm glad someone posted this as it was confusing the hell out of me.

The first couple of days I went round unplugging cables, switching the router off and on - still no change. I know my ping isn't that high....we'd all notice if we tried gaming with 100ms ping rates!

mine says that too.

would someone mind explaining if they get a chance what ping actually is? i'm a bit confused. sometimes on killcam it shows them shooting me before i actually see them shoot if that makes sense. my mate says they cud be a split second ahead of me and that's to do with ping.

is he right?

You do realise it say's searching for games with <100 ping, that doesnt mean your ping is 100

It just means hopefully you never get on a server that an american is hosting

Ping is the time from you - to reach the servers/host

Mine also says 100m/s, but the lag last night was unbearable! I had to turn it off it was that bad!

Can't say I saw the < sign before the 100ms though, hence the confusion.

I think it means that game is searching for matches where your ping to the host is -100ms (i.e less than 100ms).

EDIT : Just seen the posts above - damn my slow typing.

I think they've done it like this because they probably determined that anything >100ms would mean getting paired with US players, so by looking for games with <100ms, you're more likely to be matched locally. However, I've still played against loads of Americans, so don't know how effective it is...
