Is it working on the 360?

Hi guys,

I'm seriously not trolling here, but there's so much stuff on MW2 if you try and search it takes forever to get an answer. Last night on the ps3 it was down and you couldn't get into a multiplayer game at all

Despite 2 patches I STILL can't join a game with friends and it is shocking for a game of this scale.

Is it the same on the 360? If it is different it might convince me to switch sides, I'm getting fed up with the shoddy service provided on the ps3.

I had problems playing groundwar last night. Realised my laptop was downloading at 1400Kbs and uploading at 200Kbs, paused the transfers and the problems dissapeared.

You pay for XBL but its defo better than PSN.

Cheers for the replies, I will see what the wife says. Considering that she gave birth to our son on monday, she might not appreciate more expense at the minute....

I must admit i've been more of a PS3 gamer lately but the problems with MW2 (online play/trophies) have made me and a mate consider if we made the right choice. Live is an excellent service despite the cost.

I've played it on the 360 too and there are no issues at all, the graphics are also slightly better on the 360 build, mainly in split screen co-op.

But it's IW's ignorance that hits again (Not a PSN problem :P)! They really have gone down in my books recently, especially with with their stupidity on the PC view of MW2.

I used to play COD WAW on the PS3 but got a bit fed up with the issues playing online. Couple of my mates had 360's and said they never had such issues, so I picked up an elite cheap and never looked back!

The PS3 is an excellent console in its own right, blu ray, some good exclusives games etc. But its a shame its let down by its online service.

Im sure if they made it better and charged people for it, people would pay for it!

Still have my PS3 by the way!

I don't think the PSN issue is IW's fault, think I read on the PS3 forums that its a company called demonware who's servers are used to host MW2

I'm amazed how flawless it's been actually. Given the hype and the 1st day sales I was bracing myself for a repeat of christmas 2007.

So am I. Not had a chance to get on a massive amount but I've not even experienced lag.

I used to have a PS3 and people are right, the better online experience comes from the 360. I have no problems with MW2 on this platform..

Was it just me or have other people had difficulty getting into MP games last night. Is it down to too much demand or is my connection rubbish ?
I even lagged out of a game earlier as I was about to win !!!

Three hours in to the multiplayer and I'm yet to have a single problem with MW2, last night included. Maybe I've just been lucky!

I think given IW's stance, which is clearly favouring the 360, this isn't surprising. Fair play for getting the PS3 trophy patch out the door within a day, but I'm glad I've initially got this on the 360... I'll get it on the PS3 eventually (hopefully whilst it's still dirt cheap at the supermarkets) as all my mates have PS3s and only a couple have 360s.

Just looked at FourZeroTwo's twitter, and he's said that the problems with PSN should be good to go. It seems like they didn't expect hundreds of thousands of people to be connecting at the same time (which surprises me, being that it's, you know, the biggest entertainment launch in history)

Mine was worse earlier in the week - the last couple of nights have been rock solid. Like I said before, it's great when it works, but it can be so frustrating when issues like that hit.

I am buying a new console tonight when I finally get out of work and have opted for the 360 Elite (again, think this will be my 7th

lol) but my mates were pushing me to get a PS3 as they have all recently bought them. Thing is I used to have a PS3, got one about 6 months after launch and to be honest, I hated it. It didn't "feel" like a games system nor did it play like one, I hated the design of the pad and PSN was the worst thing I had experience online since the days of 56k modems! It sounds like its not an awful lot better now, I know we have to pay upwards of £30 for a years subs to Live but by god is it worth it in comparisson.

Tonight I will have a fridge full of beer, I'll order a takeaway, ship the wife off to her sisters for the night and thats me, hours and hours of CODMW2 online

The stats I saw were that over 2 millions users were on Live at the saem time on Tuesday and I had no problems.

Shows how far it has came since xmas 2007

"You get what you pay for" is in this instance a very deserving statement. Xmas 07 was a nightmare hence we were compensated.

I say a Good Job done by IW & MS this time round.

Had some issues with PS3 a couple days ago so switched over to the 360 version since. It's supposed to be fixed now anyway so will give it another go tonight.

I'm trying to put in an equal amount of time to both versions so I have the same weapons/perks on each. Don't want to get in to a situation where one has everything unlocked and the other has hardly anything as the one with less will prob not get played again due to that.

Hey Ham, I had this on the PS3 and with no intention of getting it on the xbox. But after the last few nights with the unable to join etc I decided to get it on the xbox. Game are doing a great deal at the moment where you get an elite plus MW2 and Forza 3 for £199.

Any more info you need PM.
