AC130 - You are in a AC130 and your friend is on the ground
ASSAULT - Take down targets in a set time while avoiding civilions
Snow Mobile Combat & Time Trials - Race and shoot against your friend.
1. You can play Spec-Ops in single player if you want but you wont get far 402 say's
2. Spec-Ops can be played in SPLITSCREEN or XBOX LIVE 2 players MAX

There's a Pro level for each perk, which will extend or improve the chosen skill when you complete a challenge.

Afghan: This is a huge map with an enormous crashed airplane in the middle of a valley in the center. The terrain is rocky with a central cave system that has three points of entry, and multiple low-slung buildings with wide windows that make excellent sniper spots. Domination was the best gametype on this map, since all three target points have multiple access points. Also a great spot to launch Predator Missiles onto the heads of unsuspecting enemies as they flee for the cave.
Favela: A medium-sized map inside a multiple-level ghetto. You can scurry across rooftops, climb from building to building, or use the sidewalks and stairs to get around. Great for Capture the Flag matches; especially with the multiple levels giving you plenty of opportunity to escape, or nail the flag carrier. Sentry Gun perks work great on this map in CTF mode, in effect giving you an extra defender on the flag.
High-Rise: Centered around a helipad and air-conditioning station between two towers on a skyscraper. You spawn on opposite sides in offices. We had fun recreating the "Schiess Dem Fenster" scene in Die Hard. This is a smaller map, but contains tunnels, rooftop perches, and lots of nooks and crannies. We noticed nice details like pipes that blow steam if you pop a round into them.

How much detail have we got on the special ops game mode? There are an awful lot of achievements in there for it. I've heard there are no MP achievements so presumably special ops is a co-op only/SP game-type?

It is co-op (splitscreen or online). You can do it SP, but 402 said you won't complete it on your own...
I think there are 23 different scenarios (like MHC on COD4) and depending how you do you get between 1 and 3 stars for it (3 being rediculously hard to get I reckon)
I like the look of it, almost 3 games on one disk, can't grumble!

I just hope this Special Ops Mode is not just there to supplement a short SP game.
I loved the SP on COD4 but felt it was a tad on the short side, and if these Special Ops missions are at the difficulty levels of MHC then that 1000GS is gonna be hard to come by. Even more so as some of it will need to be done Co-op.

Yes i did and completed Mile High Club on Vet and when you put that slant on it it did represent good VFM.
Obviously all will become clearer as we start getting reviews and drip fed more info but all that we know about Special Ops so far indicates that it takes set pieces from the SP and gives it that extra dimension of difficulty ala Mile High Club.
Hopefully this will be in addition to a reasonably lengthy SP campaign and not just a bolt on to a short one.
