Ironically they STILL havn't fixed the bug where a controller other than #1 won't work.

So if you have 'dongles' connected which take controller 1, and your Dual Shock is #2, you can't start the game.

Its been like this for years and they have never fixed it.. I bet it catches a few people out, as it looks like the PS has crashed!

not really a bug

What happens then if someone has 2 controllers connected - how would it know which one it was meant to accept imputs from?

it would have to have another screen for you to tell it which controller you are using and tbh that is a waste of time for what i would assume is the majority that just use controller one anyway

more a bug with having dongles connected in controller one spot

My only gripe is having paid 35 quid for Elite and not knowing how to get it working with all the errors or if it automatically knows my PSN because I'm logged into the PSN on my PS3 or if it knows the email automatically seeing it attached to my PSN. There's NO INSTRUCTIONS whatsoever

Aside from that I absolutely love the game.

When I can get a game and am not booted out with Server connection timed out

Would it matter? Every other game handles it OK.. But interestingly a lot of games have this problem and it gets patched later.

At the end of the day, if you had 2 controllers connected, why not let you use either to control the menus?

Just to control the menu's? so you would use controller two on the menus and then switch to controller one?

I must be misunderstanding as it all seems pretty pointless when it would just be easier to use the controller one spot for a controller?

I'm amazed how well it's playing so far. People moaning about lag and partying up must never have played a previous COD in the first few days after release. In my humble opinion this as good as I've seen in terms of how it's playing at this time.

For me the game itself sits between MW2 and MW in the way it feels which for me means!

The only thing I'm dissapointed about is that it's just MW2 jizzed up a bit. It plays ok and gets the blood pumping but I just can't help feeling i've jumped back to 2009.

I expected them to really push the boundries with this one. They've blown that.

What's left though is a perfectly decent shooter that will be fun for a while.

I'm confused.

Were you expecting Modern Warfare 3 to be a racing sim?

The formula is lapped up by millions every year.

Those millions want something that wasn't as FUBAR as MW2 and more like MW1. Right now we have an amazing cod game. I don't see what people who say "I wanted something different" wanted

Something that really pushes the boundaries of the game, something really new that has the wow factor.

Where no one expects a brand new look and feel to it all (that will come with a new engine i imagine) people expect something to feel different from a previous iteration of a game. Otherwise they might as well of not bothered.

What it seems to me is they've remade MW2 (not a bad thing in most peoples opinions) perhaps rectifying the problems and then calling it MW3. While this may please a lot of people, myself included as MW2 was a joke but had the potential (actually Blops was the same), it may not sit well with some people who have just forked out £40 for a new game.

Erm....I think I just expected a bit more. It's perfectly decent but that's it. Decent.

Ok let's have a moan. I've had bigger maps spread across my kitchen table. They're tiny. No need for a sprint perk as by the time you've started running you're across the map.

The maps would be my only gripe. Apart from that the game works well.

Exactly a lot of time spent on MW2 and after a few hours of MW3 it's the same old same old, a few new things tarted up and some fancy kill streaks and 1 yes 1 new game mode !!

How much life has MW3 got in it before getting boring I wonder ?

Well for people like me - who despised mw2 as an unbalanced pile of horse manure - it's the true sequel to cod4. All the cods since 4 have been BRUTAL so for me and a lot of others who didn't bother with the other games just because of A certain mental reflex of "omg new cod must play even though it's poo with unlimited lightweight sprinting and teleportation stabs and one bullet kill even across the map ump45's and constant overpowered air support and even though there are much better games I'll still play this broken game cus it's the latest cod innit" - this cod is amazing and we're excited about playing it for just as long as we did cod4!

I've come to the conclusion that MW3 isn't about skill anymore... it's about who's got the best Internet connection.

Moan.... easy!

Not only is Elite seemingly broken and therefore part of the game and hype missing and premature, and the game is a tweak of MW2, but they've made a mockery of Double XP.

The lag was nasty and going down early etc. Then picked up some form this afternoon - whey! Getting to grips with the P90 and went on some nice streaks; got my Streaks just how I wanted etc; and stats began to look normal again, instead of green. But...

I've lost 2 and a bit hours of gameplay; i know because I've just had to do it all over again. From memory I logged off at 16:40, by saying cheeryo to the lads and switched off my machine, ranked 43. I come back after dinner and hey presto I've gone backwards in terms of Ranks, unlocks, weapons etc. What a waste of time.

Remembering exactly how I quit is hard, but I would most likely have waited for the game to finish then while inlobby (or on my own in menu) I would've just turned the machine off. I may have turned it off 5 seconds into the next game, without spawning, and definately not minutes into game. I'd nicely unlocked the rapid fire for P90, and a few camos, and was about 18 proficiency. Got to do it all over again. If I had loaded - mistakingly - into the next game, it would have been for seconds, so before anyone suggests its deemed dashboarding, then I want words with infinity; if they're going to hinder people and penalise them, they need to warn beforehand and maybe start with a warning so that we know that we must quit, wait, then switch off.

Looking in the leaderboards, I can see my name and stats with my Rank; they're like snap shots of rank during the game. So while Im sat there on 38 now, I can see KC I was 40 and Domination I was 43. Go figure!!

So how can I complain to the developers and get set back up the ranks?

I got a really loud buzzing sound last night which lasted around 20 seconds and it happened again earlier on. Thought it was the tv until others have said it happened to them as well. Never had it on MW2...

Also getting black screen for half a minute then memory full error

Apart from that I like the game!

I do ok on UK servers. You just have to compensate better and prepare for a lot of unjust deaths.

I think the game is very good and the maps are great. In my opinion this is the best FPS money can buy. I've not been done over by quickscopers yet....but have only had the game two days. There have been many times i've not been able to connect to a game even with my 30Mbit connection but I am assuming (& hoping) this will get better as more people in the UK get online to play this.

I usually am in the top 3 of each TDM game and I don't really use any really suped-up killstreaks. I'm usually the one slicing down UAVs and Aircraft in each of my games.

Do you actually know it all?

Just because you don't like something it doesn't mean others are stupid for doing so. That is apart from the one person on the forums that still thinks WaW is the best COD released to date!
