Ive recently got a Hauppauge HD PVR and started to record some gameplay but not ventured into the commentating side. With my shall we say colourful language i dont think it would be a wise move

If you ever do one with me in it just try to pick one where I overcame the lag, lol.
I like playing with the BoBs, they are the only guys ever on when I am. Played with MaDeInBillingham (or whatever caps) last night too...

How did you find the lag in those games Det? From what i remember you had some good scores?
The game on Scrapyard was a strange one though, never played in slow motion before Then there was that fella on Skidrow who didnt move the WHOLE game and went 3-0 when we all got round about 30 kills, he was a great help for the team

OK, am going to order myself a Hauppauge HD PVR and an Astro A40 headset.
Can anyone tell me exactly what I need to set everything up properly?
As far as I know I will need a component cable for the PVR to PS3?
EyeTV software as I use a Mac.
Optical cable for the headset for 5.1 sound.
Anything else?
Also, a few places seem to be out of stock of the PVR, Amazon and Play. Does anyone know of any places selling it for a similiar price that is in stock?
As I said in the post above, I have subscribed to all those who have links in the thread / sigs. Will check some of the vids out later.

Can't hellp too much on the Astro's, but for the HD PVR, yep, component cable for video and audio to the pvr, then optical to your headphones. Get the official sony component cable if you can as I had a few problems with an old PS2 cable I was using (swordfish had some issues too I think) You get a component cable with it to go from the PVR to your tv. You can use either EyeTV or HD PVR Capture steventoth.net » About which is a bit cheaper than eyetv if you're buying, it's developed by one of the guys who works at Hauppauge

I don't know about the astros but how do they connect to the ps3? My turtle beach p21's use the same connection as the component cable so I can't use both at the same time.

The Astros connect via optical from the ps3 to their own mix amp so fitzbhoy will be able to listen on the headphones and record at the same time. All he has to do is select Dual audio(?) in the ps3 settings, I'll check later to see for definite what the option is.
I have a pair of the Astros and a pair of Sharkoons Xtatic 5.1, I've also had the Tritton ax pro's. The Astros sound nice but I prefer to use the Sharkoons because the directional sound is alot better and they are more customisable than the astro's. Don't get me wrong, they sound great and you won't be disspointed but the Sharkoons just work for me
Look forward to seeing your channel up and running Fitzbhoy

Cheers Sharpy.
Will fire on some links for people to view.
Hope it takes off. I always watched people like Overthegun and thought it would be cool to do similiar with the success that he has had.
