Are you inverted ?

Just a quick poll because I'm curious what the percentages are. My brother always switches his aiming to "inverted" when he has a go on COD round at my house. Sure enough I will forget to change it back, head into a game, point my gun straight into the sky and be a quick easy first kill for someone

So do you play with a conventional aiming axis or an "inverted" aiming axis ?

I believe that I'm normal - I don't change anything except the sensitivity to 10 .

Set to normal here, and sensitivity at 8.

I cant get my head round inverted. If I want to look up i move the joystick up (towards the tv), it just seems the right way round to me. I guess some will see moving towards the tv as down, but thats just very wrong.

The 1st thing I do in any game is invert the vertical camera...

Yes, I'm one of those odd balls.

I've always played with inverted, it's the CORRECT way!

To me it's like the joystick of a helicopter or plane, you push forward to dive and pull back to go up, simples! I don't actually have my own helicopter before anyone asks but I did spend a few years playing Tomahawk on my ZX Spectrum

Inverted here too. I see it as if it was in real life i would tilt my head backwards to look up, so tilting the stick backwards to look up seems natural. Also the plane/helicopter joystick theory applies as well

I do this on every game. I just wish the PS3 had a global preference to set the stick inversion like the 360 does!

10, how the hell do you play with it like that?

I don't use inverted, If I told you to press left for right, and right for left, would you say that was normal?! Exactly so don't press up for down and down for up.

You might as well switch the machine off and take the disc out to play

And what the hell is all this talk about planes, helicopters, fighter pilots and even someones head???!!!

The controls move a cursor on screen, so you press up to mvoe the cursor up, and shock horror down to move the cursor on screen down, it's a game, so let's use up for up and down for down yeah.

Next thing you bright sparks will want the lift to go down when you press up and up when you press down.

I'm inverted as well... It's normal to me, I remember playing a game one time that really didnt want me to switch to normal as the settings were on Inverted by default. So that may have played its part as I had to get used to it but tbh it's normal now... Why? simple, cuz, as people have pointed out, if u look UP in real life you tilt your head BACKWARDS so the controls are like as if you're playing for real just looking at the screen and holding up to look up feels wrong by my standards its like as if ur straining your characters neck to look up xD . (Which is also why planes/helicopter use the joystick axis as up is down and down is up cuz its tilting the nose, so the pilot gets to "feel" the heli or plane they are aviating. It's all about weight transfer)

Btw Jay, left is left and right is right on inverted . Yes down is up and up is down but thats (as i've said) because of the head movement that some of us getting the feeling of.

*Waits patiently for super-flames reply and this topic turning into a flame war.. Grabs popcorn also*

As everyone who has voted "inverted" has said, I use it because the inverted set up mirrors how you manipulate your own eyes to see things above or below you.

Personal preference I guess.

I'm an inverted controls user also.

Infact i had to sell the most recent silent hill game as there was no option to invert the camera which made the game unplayable for me.
