Tell me how much you get for it, if you get a good enough price... I might do as well!

Surely it'll be better to wait a little though as there's a huge influx of £26 copies around at the moment? (Just a thought, but still go check how much you'll get :P)

I think a huge amount of people would disagree with you. COD4 was huge and I think this is going to be even bigger for the next few years.

I agree with you, brought it for my 360 and it's no match on 4.. IMO it's got the vote for the most over hyped GOTY.

Had a week off work this week. Have had a really good test of it. And i'm tending to agree. It's all a bit hectic for my liking.

Just find the layout of the maps not as good as COD4. IW seem to have designed it in the same vein as say a Timesplitters game (they want kills, but deaths too !!). Maybe it's because people are still learning the game, but it seems a bit to run and gun for my liking. I'm afraid as a late 30's gamer my reaction times ain't quick enough to play like that.

It may be that I'm not that good, but it gets disheartening when you get a good kill, but within a second you have been picked off !

The other big issue I have is the melee. Say I'm in a room, I see someone coming up the stairs, I swap to a high power secondary machine pistol. They enter, I unload a full clip with red dot sight into them and it has no effect, they keep coming and knife me from about 15 feet. Some bloody long arms !! It's like trying to shoot a Terminator !

Anyhow I'm gonna stick at it, I'm sure it will grow on me !!

Same here, I'm fed up of it, it's one of those games I sometimes hate, and other times like (never love).

Cod4 is a better game.

They have made modern warfare 2 a campers dream, that's why all the perks are geared for campers.

The air support is also ridiculous, far too overpowered, at least in cdo4 you could escape.

I'm gonna stick with it until I get to level 70, coz one of two things will happen, I'll either love it, or want to put my head through a brick wall

I really dont get the problem with campers, as the game progresses you unlock enough perks to deal with them

Maps are OK, but must admit I am looking forward to some new ones! IW could give us a free download of the original COD4 maps

I felt the same as you at first until something just clicked, maybe all my unlocks are helping but i just enjoy the game more now.I hate the airport level though as that seems like the worst one for campers.

Just unlocked the javelin, now that is a laugh sending one of those down on a camper. On the skyscraper level there were two on the building with the oil tank on the top, got a lock on it, launched and boom, double kill

Gulp, I'm glad in a way that it's not just me feeling this way!

I don't know what it is really but I don't get that "buzz" with multiplayer on MW2 that I used to always get on COD4 and I was even thinking about going back onto COD4 MP yesterday

Maybe it's because there's so many perks, killstreaks, weapon attachments, etc. MW2 is more about understanding and setting up the best loadout rather than actual skill in playing the game - I've seen so many matches that just end up getting dominated by one team if they are the first to get the big killstreaks (ie. first to get a care package with the ac130/harrier/gunner/whatever pushes the enemy back into a corner, rest of the winning team start picking the enemy off, everyone on the winning team gets killstreaks too).

I'm enjoying the SpecOps missions at the moment which will definitely keep me busy for a while but then after that I'm not sure if I'll bother much with MP.

And the other thing that still bothers me about MW2 - the constant disk access and accelerated fan. I was playing Estate Takedown on SpecOps last night (so I was having to do a lot of sneaking, zooming in and out, hiding with jelly on my face, swearing at the TV, etc.) and it's a bit off-putting when you can hear the PS3 whirring away every time you try to snipe someone.

Blimey a lot of negativity for MW2.

I wasn't a big fan of COD4 (was for a few months then didn't play it hardly ever for 1½ years) but I'm more into MW2 than I ever was MW.

I actually like all the perks, all the maps, the different weapons and the extra game modes.

Maybe it's because I DID have a massive break from COD that I've been drawn back into it now?

Or maybe it's just your love for your 2 P90s

I was running around with dual MP5s last night and I noticed Looj and Hanksey running around with dual shotguns

Great fun!

Yeah that could have something to do with it.

Kept forgetting I was on the mic last night, must apologise to everyone because I kept finding myself humming the 'Chicken Digby Caesar' tune from Mitchell and Webb everytime I went into sprint mode!

I am not suprised that you all have these opinions about MW2, my opinion was the same but this week i have really started to get into the game, i think that they may have overcomplicated the game a bit too much though, because if you look at COD4 it was brilliant but it was also fairly simple, you didn't need a degree to figure everything out, at the moment im still trying to do the challenges on guns and im on level 45 and still not even done 2 guns...

I think that if you stick with it and when you find the set up which you like you will really start to like it.

Mate, I have to agree with you 100%. The levels are far too detailed and mangled. It's nigh impossible to spot a camper now because there is just far too many little objects for them to hide behind. This game is a camper's paradise!

And I so know where you're coming from regarding the stabbings from 15 metres away, lol. How does that work?! It's like Dhalsim from SF has somehow made his way to MW2. It's aspects like these that ruin the game. COD4 was well balanced. Tis a real shame, but I will persevere!

There seems to be a theme going on where people that really lvoed cod4 don't love mw2, and those that weren't bessoted by cod4 like mw2.

They are both different games in my opinion that play very differently.

Oh and I can't wait until iw charge us for maps that are already on the disc to shaft us some more

Yeah it's pathetic.

They've made this gae more arcadey and mainstream, with all the ridiculous little pictures to add to your name etc, we ain't 12, it's an 18 but yet they seem to be targeting little boys...Little boys who love camping in the corner so they can masturbate over their kill death ratio.

Yeah, the odd thing is that the reason I wasn't a fan of COD4 was it was too arcadey. Now this is out and it's even MORE arcadey I seem to be enjoying it more?!

Maybe it because it's so obviously arcadey. Take Marathon + Lightweight coupled with Akimbo P90s for example. There is no way on earth that in the heat of the battle some muppet soldier would go legging it past loads of enemy soldiers with guns!

Loving it for these silly things though, last night we played CTF and beat another team 10-0 and it was hilarious.

Yeah I know what you mean, I think that's why I hate it more.

I'm loving it, as over 2 days of playing time will confirm I picked up COD4 a few months after release and got upto 1st prestige lvl 55, I can honestly see me going all the way to prestige 10 lvl 70 on MW2.

As for the stabbings from 15ft away, that'll be the commando perk Great fun it is running around just knifing people

They've made this gae more arcadey and mainstream, with all the ridiculous little pictures to add to your name etc, we ain't 12, it's an 18 but yet they seem to be targeting little boys...Little boys who love camping in the corner so they can masturbate over their kill death ratio.
Mate youve got it 100%! Im sick of the childish titles etc, it is soooooooooo acrady and unrealistic and the whole set up is campers paradise! Its finally nice to hear from a few people who actually think the same way as i do! as all my mate keep bumming out MW2.. Ive been dissaopinted with it, not worth the £45 pre order robbery i reccived from blockbuster either..

I think that if you stick with it and when you find the set up which you like you will really start to like it.
Agreed,

So many very good and true points made in this topic.

I think as pointed out the maps are almost to detailed and most of them suit and campers style of play.. to be honest i have had to slow down a bit on my style of play from cod 4 and 5 with this, as you might get one guy with a good shot but within sec;s your nailed down with 3/4 other guys but then you have levels like rust and scrap yard where its just like the dome level in cod 5, no skill what so ever just spray and prey everything.. You be lucky to get 3/4 kills in a row on rust unless your at the top of that station in the middle of the map...

If i had to give the makes of this game some advise it would be go back to the basics.. Instead of having 10 detailed maps have 20 simple maps in the cod 4 style.. for me its about game play not how a game looks..

EDIT: Be good if you could all put together a list of points that we like about cod4 and things we dont like on cod6 and send it to them to point out the issues we have. I personnal am liking the game but as i said all the points in this topic are very good and i agree with almost all of them.
