The Nuke club

Who on here has managed to do it? I have 2 friends who have and I'm really jealous

Haven't unlocked the nuke yet, my highest killstreak is 17.

Would all those who have let us know what game mode they did it on, if they were camping in one spot and picking people off and what they had kitted out - this may then give a guide for the rest of us to achieve it

I ain't unlocked nuke yet but protected my mate last night so he could get one.

Playing dom on afghan, I sat in front of him as decoy and got shot a lot while he picked them off with a silenced M16

9 kills Pavelow
11 kills Chopper Gunner
25 kills Nuke

He only shot about 10 with his gun he got 12 kills with chopper gunner it was absurd.

Interesting way of doing it. Did you drop a spawn flare near him so you could jump back in and help out? Or were you holding a riot shield in front of him?

Could be a good way of assisting others to do it if we could get a few people willing to help out...?

Yep had tactical insertion set up behind him, no riot shield just my trusty Tar21 and AT4 to take out any enemy air support straight away.
I had a sentry gun covering us as well

Come off it! I've never even killed more than 25 in an entire game let alone in a streak! I would really love to experience it though!!

bubs999, were you playing TDM by any chance on Skyrise level? Coz someone used a nuke in that game. Felt gutted.

I've had a few 25+ kill streaks but I don't have it enabled. I'm personally addicted to the final kill cam though, great opportunity to commentate on the whooping you've just dished!

I've dropped 2 nukes so far

But since i've prestiged i have got to do the challenge again

The comments you get are great when you drop it. The first time i was on highrise doing domination,got a nuke,and used it when i got killed on 27 kill streak

The 2nd time when i was on wasteland.Got a 25 kill streak and i got killed. We were losing on domination,so i won the game by dropping it

I've been nuked

Never thought it would happen against me, especially as I was playing with BoBs at the time!

Dished out 2 nukes myself. Don't have it in my killstreak rewards anymore!

Haven't hit 70 yet.

I only equip the nuke if I'm playing on my own but most of the time I'm playing with others so UAV / Sentrys etc are more important.

I've been nuked twice now.

In that game Askew i didnt even see the guy getting a streak or i would have been on the hunt for him.

I have had a 27 killstreak before tho. Just didnt have the nuke unlocked/equiped.

Doubt i'll get it again now. Sods law.

I'm personally waiting to get the Nuke's next year when Treyarch come back with the Tanks.

But really I don't see the point in them, if I was having *that* good of a game - which I doubt I ever would - but if I were I wouldn't want to end the game abruptly I would want to keep it going and rake up an even larger killstreak and K/D ratio.

Agreed! If I was on a hot run of kills in a game even if I died I would feel the confidence to build another streak. You are making the most of the other teams lack of ability either by being bad at playing the game, or having a bad game.

You may never have the highest kills etc, but I don't think you are aware how valuable you are to the GEN1 team, me and Salt describe you as a real Ant, as in the tiny insect that walks in between even tinier holes

I have already had 3 nukes, and have now stopped equipping them, or only equip it very sparingly. It almost feels like if I really want to go for a nuke I can get it, especially on maps like Afghan isn't that right Salty.

My load out yesterday was UAV, Predator, and Harrier. I am surprised at how many kills my Harriers get, no one takes them down, and yet if I see anything in the air I always shoot it down

I think today I will try Harrier, Pavelow and Chopper Gunner - Imagine all three out together

Thanks Hubba that was nice of you to say.

I am hoping I will improve - and fast, I am just finding MW2 a bit of a culture shock as it is nothing like WaW and COD4 and thus think I need time to adapt.

As for one WaW/COD4 was largely close quarters combat with the MP40/Thompson/PPSH or MP5, P90 etc with small maps with many corners to surprise people up close like Hanger, Asylum, Makin and Crash, Downpour, Backlot etc.

These in MW2 are largely (with the exception of Invasion) just totally huge open spaces with guns that can pick someone off from a mile away.

Which means running and gunning is always at a disadvantage to campers.

Also thanks for the joining the games late last night. I have a list entirely populated with people playing MW2 so always hate to offend anyone by ignoring their invites, but when its only 6 to a game it can get complicated to sort these things out.

Have a mate got it 3 times now.. His best kill streak is 39...

K/D ratio i think is something like 1.43, tho TD matchs i play with him he always in around what i am with kill/deaths.

whats the serect !! am i missing something.. Best Kill streak on cod 5 was 23.. i think 18 on Cod 4 dont think i will ever get it on this lol

I'm on 7 so far

. I really like the thrill of getting them

. I'm gonna keep equiping it until I've completed the nukes challenge by getting 10 and i'll then stop using it as much. I don't wanna have to start from zero nukes when I prestige.

I think it's a great addition to the game and you don't have to cut your streak short when you earn one. You just carry on the game as normal until you die, then you just call it in when you want. You can leave it til the game is nearly over and then call it if you want

Got a 37 killstreak today. No nuke attached to the killstreak

Also in another game in afghan I tried my setup from above but the pavelowe did not add to my killstreak.

Bad luck Hubba.

Just thought i'd add that getting a fair few nukes doesn't mean that I think i'm a great player. I aint showing off, I genuinly don't think that being able to get them or not means you are good/bad at the game. It's a lot to do with luck, game type, game map, quality of the opposition, whether they are clued up on the air support etc etc. Also it's whether you've actually played for them or not, I think i'm guilty of going for the nukes a little more than most. I do still play the game modes properly, I just get a bit cautious once I have unlocked the harriers.

It's one of those things that once you have got one you feel like you can get them fairly easily. It's more about how well your killstreaks go than how good at the game you are.

i stopped using nuke as well now think im on 4.. i want those damn moving emblems.. so ive equipped care package, sentry gun and some airstrike..

Highest kill streak is 27...got it yesterday...however I had UAV, Predator Missile and Chopper Gunner....unlocked the Nuke already but changed my Killstreak rewards to the above so that I can complete the UAV challenge.

He will have a better chance of getting a nuke through a care package

Is there a nuke emblem? How many Nukes do you need?
