Hi, I'm probably been as blind as a bat here or just plain stupid but anyway, I've just completed the single player in mw2 in regular diificulty, and I want to go through it again in the hardened mode, but I don't see where I can change this, I click on new game and it just starts with no options to pick what difficulty I want to go through?

Please can someone enlighten me here?

you run the pit as part of the tutorial and it suggests a difficulty but you can select whatever you want when you try to leave the pit.

Fairly sure you can change during the game by pausing and then selecting the right option.

Thats true you can but to get the trophy for the difficulty level it has to be selected from the pit and not changed. OP may not be interested in trophies but just for information.

Also, I'm pretty sure you can only change it down. I've not selected the option so can't be sure, but I think it's called something like "reduce difficulty".

Also, if you choose "select mission" from the single player menu then it asks you what difficulty level you want to play it at (but you only get this option after you've completed the game I think).

Yep - that's what I did after I completed on Regular. I chose the first (training) mission on Veteran though and then had to re-select Veteran after running The Pit as Adcook stated.
