Really getting sick of COD games!!

Before I start I must say that these games are superb in every way and I have loved playing them!!

I am just SOOOOO sick to death of the length/size of these games........ I got this game last week and started playing on Saturday morning. By yesterday afternoon I had finished (and that wasnt solid playing either!) and to be honest I was just shocked, it just ended and I was just starting to really enjoy it.

I know these games are also aimed at the online play but I dont play games online and have no interest in playing them online.

The last modern warfare was also short but this is just taking the **** tbh and I and getting sick of spending £40 on a game that I enjoy but is ultimately unsatisfactory (a little like a quicky I guess!!)

Not happy!

Re: Really getting sick of COD games!!

I tend to agree, but I wonder if the game is fleshed out anymore, would it detract from the amazing experiance it is?

Personally I suppose you could have got a few more missions in afganistan in, maybe a couple more in Moscow and possibly a few more in the states.

Re: Really getting sick of COD games!!

I think they gone for quality, not quantity.

I find you get your moneys worth by racking up the hours spent online. After a few months, you find your past 100 hours. Not bad for £40

Ooh, don't forget the 'extra' missions in any planned DLC! Not that there milking every penny out of us!

Too true. For me the Campaign is something to do when I've hit some bad form in MP - or should that be, even worse than usual form?!!

Re: Really getting sick of COD games!!

You have to remember the campaign mode is just one third of the game - the others been Multiplayer and Special Ops. Infinity Ward made no secret of this prior to release.

Whilst I agree the campaign is short, I'd rather have a quality campaign than a lenghty one with no depth or quality to it.

Re: Really getting sick of COD games!!

To be fair Im not sure there is any less length in terms of game play than many other top titles (Uncharted2, etc) but to MW2's credit there isnt 3 hours of cutscenes, it keeps the pace high by moving you straight from one action area to another with no time for a breath inbetween. I still think the campaign is weak compared to previous games but it should be given some credit for doing it without resorting to cutscenes.

Re: Really getting sick of COD games!!

On 90% of games the Campaign is the main part of the game with the multiplayer being there as a bonus. COD games are an obvious exception to this trend. The Campaign is a nice little bonus (personally I am hating the campaign so far) but not what everyone is here for. Considering many of you will have notched almost 100 hours on MP in the last week surely that proves how much of value the game actually is.

Close to 100 hours in a week? Thats so excessive! Why would anyone spend that much time playing?

Noone has been on 100 hours yet.

CHG is leading the way with 48+ hours I think.

I agree. Never in my life have I heard so many players saying "I don't want to be left behind" !!
What I am trying to say is many of us will end up playing MW2 for 100s of hours (hopefully not in the first week ). I can't think of many other gams that will get anywhere near that sort of playtime.

Thought Hillskill many people, sounds more like an assumption reading it again. Still, 48+ hours, isn't CHG the guy that didn't get nominated for any awards?

Re: Really getting sick of COD games!!

OP, what level did you complete the game on? Also have you collected all the intel?
Also don't forget spec ops.

I've got 100%!complete on the story, completed on veteran, and I have all the trophies.

Spec Ops though I'm finding difficult.

Re: Really getting sick of COD games!!

I completed it on normal level and I havent looked at the spec opps yet. I think my complaint is that they have gone to the trouble to put together a truly superb game which I have really enjoyed but this one was shirter than almost any game I have played.

I understand the online piece is what a lot of people play this for but I have no urge to do that so am left with the campaign.

Can i ask why you don't play the game online? I'm sure if you gave it a try and get 'hooked' like many other people you'll realise £40 isn't so bad after all?!

Re: Really getting sick of COD games!!

Never understood why people would want a long game? The worst thing when playing a video game is when you end up pushing through it just to see the end. I think a game should leave you wanting more once the credits role.

(although this usually applies to games under a normal RRP. I am still unable to figure out why activision bumped the price up on MW2)

I want a long game for exactly the reasons you mentioned below. You enjoy something you dont want it to end (too quickly anyway!)

It has left me wanting more but this one was ridiculously short!

Neither do I.

But why not try playing with a few guys from the forums, some of them are a good laugh, and it don't matter how crap or good you are.

I'd try it at least once, nothing to lose.

But surely if that was satisfied (ie. it kept going to where you had enough) You would be left with a game that was overly long, to the point where boredom creeps in?

If a game has to end (which outside of multiplayer they generally do) Then I say go out before I get a chance to get bored. Especially in the case of MW2 where the campaign makes up only one third of the game I think something similar to the length of a film is about right.

Yeah to be fair, I was the same when it came to online, I only started playing online about a year and a half ago, before that the thought of it weren't appealing.

But played with a few guys from here and it was a good laugh.

As with anything though it depends on who you play with.

Re: Really getting sick of COD games!!

I happened to play some on the mission and was enjoying it (on Hardened) but I have done about 12hours of online play.

I think the story mode is great and can see why it should be longer. But from a MP position I don't want to invest too much time when I could be online....
