MW2. Veteran too easy?

Having never fully completed any other veteran on any format I decided to try this one as most posts said it was easier.

Well...I have to say the only difficult bit was getting to the sub in 2mins.

It wasn't that every level was easy, plus I had already completed it on recruit (yes, I know, cop out), so I knew what to expect.

Yet I found this more realistic, and in a sense easier because of it.

The biggest problem with earlier versions was as soon as you stuck your head out everyone new you were there and bang, your dead.

With mw2 the enemy know you are there when you start shooting, or with a silenced weapon you shoot the first person not the last, which made veteran more appealing as a challenge.

Anyone else think this?

You know ive played all the COD games to death but never touch Veteran as i find it just so frustrating, I just dont see the fun of dying over and over again...There was times when I got a bit stuck even on regular in MW2...

Re: MW2. Veteran too easy?

Just completed it on regular last night which was a ridiculous walk in the park compared to past ones which have frustrated me in places.

Have read elsewhere that the veteran on MW2 isn't too hard and probably the easiest of the next-gen CoD's to complete so I'm going to start giving it a bash later today. I can see a couple of spots that'll be difficult though.

Re: MW2. Veteran too easy?

I think it's dependent on a players skill as to wether it's easy or not, i have friends who say normal is a challenge.

But it's definitely easier than the other cod's.

Re: MW2. Veteran too easy?

Considering most Vet players have played 3 COD campaigns by now I would say they are getting used to the difficulty. Couple that with a shorter campaign and higher powered weapons I can see why people might label it easier. Myself personally, I have been trying to beat COD2 on Vet for the past 4 years

Really should go back.

COD2, the hardest of them all, imo.

Re: MW2. Veteran too easy?

Really, I reckon COD2 was easy on Veteran (Minus a couple of spikes in the difficulty).

What I've got no chance of beating is WAW on Veteran but in my defense I put it down to awful level design.

I keep getting stuck on or around boxes or rocks that are small enough you should just be able to walk over them. Instead your footing gets caught, a grenade lands by your feet and it's pause, restart from last checkpoint.

If memory serves me I finished MW on Vet but on the 360

Re: MW2. Veteran too easy?

Also I should add that I hate just replaying sections over and over. I love my games but as I grow older time to myself is at a premium. Would far rather play a slow burning adventure game or have a blast online with some mates then replay mile high club over and over and over. I can beat the veteran levels eventually but I can't say I enjoy it.

And for that reason......I'm out !

Re: MW2. Veteran too easy?

Whoop just completed my first ever game on Vet (intact this was the first I'd tried) I definately had an advantage having already completed it on regular. I enjoyed doing it though! Also collected all but 4 intel's in vet mode. (completely forgot about them on one level!)
What I will say though is that having experience of online gameplay certainly helps, with having to be abit quicker on the trigger.

Re: MW2. Veteran too easy?

I am halfway through on Vet and think its tough but very enjoyable. There is no rushing straight into it..its plan, move, check, move etc..

Thats the way it should be played. when I finish it I will replay on an easy mode, but I want to make the SP last as long as possible.

Re: MW2. Veteran too easy?

I played up to Act 2 on Recruit at first but this was before the trophies patch so I decided to just start again on Veteran and about 9-10 hours later I had completed the game. Yes I find it easy but one of the hardest parts I found was the Wiltshire Hotel thing? Where there fireing from the hotel and you have to run / crawl in them holes in the ground and so many bullets come flying over your head.

But this game on Veteran is nothing compared to playing Killzone 2 on Elite!

Re: MW2. Veteran too easy?

It's certainly not as difficult as MW1. That one had me frustrated at a number of points. I'm halfway through Act 2 at the moment with little effort or frustration.

WaW is pretty much impossible on Vet. It turns on the 'Enemies have unlimited grenades and eyes of a hawk' cheat.

Re: MW2. Veteran too easy?

I think its easier, MW1 seemed much more difficult in parts, but i have only played MW2 for a few hours. So maybe it will get a bit more challenging then.

Re: MW2. Veteran too easy?

Having not played MW1 on PS3 (only on PC) I am finding Veteran a slow slog so its hard enough for me, get to points where its very difficult to progress quickly for example the FSB vans, and Militia sniper alley (where you are told to use flash bangs).

Still going to stick with Veteran as I am sure playing it on this will increase my playing standard before I ever dare risk online!

As for me as soon as I stick my head out it is, bang, bang and I am dead. Not looking forward to the Sub bit then.

"Whiskey Hotel" ie. the phonetic for "W" and "H" ... ie. The White House

I found veteran on MW2 to be surprisingly easy, on most levels you can just wait in cover for the NPCs to thin out the opposition and maybe take the occasional pot shot. Either be patient and pick off the enemy one by one or rush forward and dive for cover (so you trigger the next area).
