Is the grass greener in cod4........

Am I the only one that's tempted to get back to cod4, has anyone played cod4 recently, is there still a community?

Modern warfare 2 is good but it just isn't as good as modern warfare in my opinion.

Well I have three work mates who are back on it already Jay. Must be still quite happening mate.

When I say three workmates, I only have four. So that's a good ratio!

Cheers, I think I'm gonna pick it back up.

Shocking that it's still going for near full price after nearly 3 years

I did think maybe I'm disliking modern warfare 2 because I'm not used to it etc but cod4 just had something addictive about it.

The maps were much better.

Activison and iw have milked the franchise.

Re: Is the grass greener in cod4........

Mate the amount of people going "home" is incredible. I'm not a massive MW fan but I agree with you when you say the maps on MW2 are crap. Then again I thought MW had some ropey maps.

That's where I thought WAW really shone. Some of the maps were amazing. All I'm doing in MW2 right now is bumping into stuff. Horrible.

Anyway bro, off home now. Have a good weekend.

Yeah don't get me wrong cod4 weren't perfect, some of the maps were crap, and I hate that it had no rumble, and the muting of players was crap.

But I'm finding the maps in this game just have random stuff put there for the sake of it.

If infinity ward didn't make this game, I'd bet my life on it half the people would go back to cod4.

Re: Is the grass greener in cod4........

I think only time will tell, think it needs to be given a fair crack, I mean the maps you/I/everyone will get used too! Possibly think they should have made smaller maps as they are quite big..... too big in fact, but the game is good. I think the point scoring and the perks are better, I like the fact you can choose your kill streaks too.

I am getting addicted to it so could call me bias but then again I picked up MW a few weeks before MW2 came out for the first time in nearly a year and was addicted to that all over again!

Yeah you could be right, I'm still gonna give it a bash to see if it grows on me but I'll be picking up cod4 too.

Or maybe even killzone 2 again

I regret selling my COD4 but its too soon to say what I prefer. I tried 3rd persons team the other night on MW2........I loved it. Felt alot more of a casual game.

Steve I'm gutted, this game is a bit of a flop.

They've changed it too much.

I don't believe you sold cod4

I guarantee you buy it again in the new year

I would have been happy for some more updates to cod4 and just never released modern warfare 2.

I would have loved rumble, mute and even more perks and maps.

Re: Is the grass greener in cod4........

Had mixed feelings regarding the MW2 multi when I first played it but now Im learning the maps and unlocking more weapons and perks I think it's a better game than COD4. You have to give it time and then you will find something you like. There's something in MW2 for everyone

Ive gone back to playing it on my 360.... Still easy enough to get onto games.

Just to add Jay, try the spec ops bravo missions, you wont be disapointed, its this games 1 (albeit huge) saving grace in my opinion...

Re: Is the grass greener in cod4........

Going to still play MW2 as there are some good things about it, but am also going to get back to ranking up on WaW for the 360 which has been my most fun on the PS3 and am half way through on the 360.

Give me Revolution, Dome, Asylum and Battery over Afghan, Estate, the one on the building roof tops, and a few others that I have forgot their names any day.

Only time I thought about putting COD4 back in the PS3 was when the servers were down but I found Special Ops and played that for the night.

Re: Is the grass greener in cod4........

I wish i hadn't got rid of 4+5.Part of the problem with mw2 is the emphasis on k/d ratios and the size of the maps.People are so bothered by their stats that it becomes a campfest.WAW was far from perfect but at least on several maps it was impossible to effectivly camp.I would have gladly paid £7.99 every 3 months to get new maps .

Only significant thing about Mw2 that would make me go back to COD4 is somethingstrange that I just can't quite put my finger on... There is something about the screen with Mw2 that gives me headache and eye strain. I can't identify what it is but it is definitely there...

I get that too, I reckon it's due to the size of the maps and the fact that a lot of people camp at the moment so you're always trying to focus on tiny dots in the distance.

IMO, MW2 plays totally different to COD4 - the variety of weapons, perks, killstreaks, etc. has only just started to sink in. Eg. heartbeat sensors, thermal scopes, riot shields, bling weapons, etc.

Best online maps by MILES mate. Had WAW been made by Infinity Ward people would have declared it a masterpiece. I honestly believe that. They took the basics of MW multi and made it even better. Then there's Zombies. Amazing stuff.

MW2 is still good but IW can't seem to make a decent map.

Re: Is the grass greener in cod4........

I think WAW got loads of stick it never deserved.

Decent but not groundbreaking campaign with a good length, Co-op off and on-line, Zombies, fun online MP and all the extra maps , zombie modes etc.

I bet Treyarch are wondering just exactly what they have to do to impress everyone.

Reminds me of a girl I once went out with.

I could have flown her to Paris first Class, taken her to the best 5 star reataurant and then proposed with a 10ct diamond ring at the top of the Eiffel tower perfectly timed with a massive firework display showing my love for her to everyone.

She'd then start telling me a story about something really great she once did with her Ex. Aaaaaarrghhh!

....not that I'm bitter about it.....

For me I believe it is caused because people are camping more in this game.

Furthermore you can shoot and kill from miles away on the map in this game where you cannot on COD4 (unless you use the M4 or M16)

And lastly which is the biggest reason IMHO, on certain maps, people are camouflaging and blending more with the scenery than what they could on COD4 and WaW so it is very difficult to see them from a distance so you are straining your eyes slightly to be able to see them far away.

But what you are doing is using your long range vision on effectively a close up TV and thus causing the eye strain.

In my opinion all IW need to do to fix it is sort out those blimming guns where you can snipe someone with an UZI across a large map with three perfect precision shots and no recoil whatsoever.

I didn't mind WAW too much but it got boring very quickly. Everyone using exactly the same gun all the time. MP40 Dual Mag + Jug.
