How are you finding the lag?

Back in the early COD days, I spent most of my life shouting at the TV saying "thats not what happened".. A one on one gun battle would always end up with me loosing out and the kill cam would show a completely different view of what just happened.

As time went on, it got better.. Probably due to the loading of the severs but equally it might have been a case of just getting better and/or used to it.

I have then spent most of this year playing WAW and to be honest, I havn't seen the "thats not what happened" phenomenon much, so I assumed that I had simply improved my game.

Now with MW2 its like going back to the early days of COD4.. If I meet someone head on and have a shoot out, they always seem to win and the kill cam is what THEY saw, not me.. So in my world, I came round the corner, saw them and shot them.. In their world, I hadn't even turned to face them before they shot me.

This can't be my connection, as WAW was much better.. I can only assume that is the server side and is probably part of them being "overloaded".. How is everyone else finding it?

Better than COD:MW? Better than COD:WAW??

Jon

It's P2P Jon so servers don't come in to it. I blame your TV

I have the exact same issue.
You've hit the nail on the head with your description.
Just hope it is a server thing that will be fixed rather than my connection which is very good.

Re: How are you finding the lag?

Never played COD4 but I know exactly what you mean. Had a few games last night with loads of lag, usually against Americans it must be said.

It's just a shame they didn't put in dedicated servers rather than still using hosts

Its been sorted apparently mate.

Yet to try it out tho.

With regards to lag. Most of the games are fine but as previously mentioned joining onto American (not always might i add) is where i find my lagtastic games.

And Ground war is the biggest culprit i'm afraid. Obviously because there is alot more players on there but sometimes its just unplayable and once the host has moved mid game it'll be fine for a short while then its back to lagtastic.

But overall i think the lag has been better on MW2 compared to MW and WAW.

Re: How are you finding the lag?

I wonder if a lot of peoples complaints about this comes down to their ISP throttling P2P traffic, though I assume CoD WaW used P2P as well?

I think that means it's looking for 25 games that are running with a ping of 100ms or under

Re: How are you finding the lag?

My lag is cr*p too. MW was ok, but towards the end for me, Prestige 10, the lag was getting so bad I almost gave up!
I found, mostly, WAW was more consistent. Not fantastic, especially when Artillery was raining down, then it was like watching an old hand cranked projector image, but better than MW.

Maybe it is because I play mostly after 10pm when the Gobby Yank Comrades come on line! Wish I could play more during the week........hold on! I am off for 13 days from Sunday!!!!!!
