XTZ Room Analyzer powerbuy

We are happy to present Room Analyzer, an easy-to-use software/hardware kit for measuring the sonic performance of your listening room. Now you can see how your room/system sounds! Room Analyzer measures frequency response, decay and determines where the resonances are, making it much easier to improve the overall sound from your system. The realtime fullrange analysis clearly shows you what happens when moving around speakers, tuning crossover filters and so on. This will benefit any system, two channels or home cinema or even car hifi systems doesn´t matter. Check out the November issue of HIFI World for an extensive review.

Re: XTZ Room Analyzer powerbuy

Been thinking about getting this product for a while, so I'm happy to see this powerbuy price. Just a couple of questions if I may. Is it easy to export equalisation settings to a device like a Behringer Feedback Destroyer? Also, will the software work on Vista64? Cheers .

Re: XTZ Room Analyzer powerbuy

There is an option to save EQ settings in a txt-file, but the Room Analyzer does not support other DSP product standards. (except our DSP subwoofer of course)

The current software version supports Vista, but there are new updates on the way since Vista is very different from XP when it comes to USB communications and sound cards.

I'd like to purchase the XTZ room analyzer as part of this powerbuy.

Please let me know how to arrange this, for postage to the UK.

That's as clear as mud then .

My experience of XTZ is that it will indeed run on Vista, however as soon as you plug in the supplied USB mic/soundcard, the application hangs. I waited patiently for weeks for an update, but in the end was forced to return the product.

Shame, as it looks like a fantastic bit of kit for the money...

We are working hard to finish the software update! The current version is run succesfully by several Vista-users, but some Vista versions are still a problem.

Re: XTZ Room Analyzer powerbuy

2 reasons - Id been waiting since June too to have aplay with it and hadnt seen this thread either with regard to the Vista upgrade

and I was sat down last week, wondering just how much control I have over my living room now the missus has nearly finished decorating and I came to the conclusion that the room would have to do, and even if the XTZ showed me that the audessy wasnt doing that good a job, I had little scope to change anything now ...so it was just another gadget lying around in its box unused

Re: XTZ Room Analyzer powerbuy

I've now compared this against the Room Correction feature of my Behringer DEQ 2496, and I have to say that the XTZ is far superior in ease of use and ability to fine tune.
Much nicer too than me sitting down with a piece of graph paper while running through a lengthy series of test tones.

Coupled together with the parametic EQ of the DEQ 2496, the tuned sound is significantly better than that obtained with the somewhat rough and ready approach previously.

One caveat: I use the DEQ 2496 in fully digital mode in a 2-channel high end system for music only, so your mileage may vary with analogue in.

It looks like the beta-version for Vista does the job. We decided to put it out for download and get more feedback. Check back on the webbsite later this afternoon. The new software version should be in place anytime now.

I'm confused, your website shows V1.11, which is the same version number as the one that was incompatible with my Sony VAIO VGN-FE41S running Vista Home Premium 32bit ???

On Vista there is an option to run programs in XP compatibility mode.

Does that not work for the Room Analyser?

The site still says 1.11 but if you download the installer it is named 1.20b. I will try to get somebody to correct it ASAP.

The Vista issues regarding hardware require different software. Using the compability mode is not enough.

I've got feedback, it's screaming the house down . Is this some sort of practical joke?? I waited for months for Vista compatible software, eventually returning the kit. After you announced V1.2, I re-purchased the kit.. I've just installed it and as soon as I plugged the USB mic in I got full volume feedback through my speakers and a locked up PC - I had to resort to pulling the plug!! I've now rebooted and the feedback is still there at anything over 50% volume, it sounds like the internal laptop mic is active and feeding back through the system..

..oh and your software still hangs .

Re: XTZ Room Analyzer powerbuy

Okay, now I've calmed down a little..

My laptop internal mic appears to be set to max and is feeding back through the internal speakers and I'm having to mute the volume to prevent feedback.

I've tried disabling the laptop soundcard mic, but it's still on .

So XTZ still doesn't work on my Vista laptop and worse still it appears to have up the soundcard ..

I'm just trying to think if I've ever dealt with a company this incompetent before .

Here's the error report..

Re: XTZ Room Analyzer powerbuy

Well, I´m sorry you experience problems with the softare, you are actually the first one reporting similar problems! It is a beta version, so updates are likely. May I ask what Vista version you are running? It could be useful information for the software developers.

Also, did you read the special info about vista?
