Samsung 46'' Picture setting issues

Hi ,
I recently brought a Samsung 46'' HDTV(it's not a 120hz), the picture is a little blurred when viewing far off objects on the screen for aspect ratio 16:9, then i changed the ration to 4:3(i donot have HD) the picture is much better but then the picture doesnot fit the entire screen, the sides are black, please help???

4:3 would look better because its smaller but you dont want a 46" to watch a smaller size. try playing about with the settings eg contrast brightness and so until you find what picture looks best for you.also what model is it as i have a 46" sammy and mine looks great.

It is a 46" LN46B530,1080P, i did change all the settings but still the picture is blurred , Mode - Standard, Backlight - 8, contrast - 75, Brightness - 47, sharpness - 50, color - 35, tint - G50/R50
