Yes, they are currently running trailers for next season - 46 Premier League games if i remember correctly.
I think it's season 2010/11 where they will only have the rights to roughly half that amount of games.

They are definately getting English Premier League.
Your friend probably misread a news article that i read saying that setanta had lost a package to sky, they still have the rights to several other packages though.

The premier league games are split up into different 'classes', games such as man united vs chelsea will be class 'A' games, which sky obviously has the rights to as they always show them. As far as i remember, sky had A,B and i think it was F. Setanta had either some or all of the remainder.
Sky recently won another package off setanta for next season. So in answer to your original question, yes setanta will have premier league, just a little less than this season!
