V+ to DVD Recorder

Hi

I have my TV connected to a Denon AV Receiver and my Virgin V+ box. It works brilliantly for the surround sound for shows like 24, whether watched live or from a recording on the V+.

I've tried connecting the V+ to our Sony DVD recorder (scart to scart) to enable us to use the "copy to DVD" in the extras menu on the V+ but it hasn't worked.

We also can't seem to get the surround speakers (which are linked to the Denon) to work when we play a DVD - sound just comes off the TV speaker - kinda defeats the purpose of having the Denon !!

Anybody got any ideas ?

Thanks

Peter

Have you even connected the DVD recorder to the Denon? If you haven't, that's why you can't hear audio through the Denon when the DVD is playing. If you have, are you selecting the correct input on the Denon (optical or coaxial presumably) when watching DVDs?

Which bit hasn't worked? Has it recorded anything? If it has, what has it recorded if not what you expected it to record? Have you selected scart input (presumably AV2) as the source before pressing record on the DVDR?

Re: V+ to DVD Recorder

Thanks for your comments.

Yes, the DVD is connected to the Denon - I'll check that the correct input was selected.

It did record - again I'll check the source was correct.

Cheers
