Panasonic LCD TV 37LZ800 - where can I find reviews?

I'm interested in buying a 37 inch LCD HD 1080p TV. I'm looking at Sharp, Samsung and Panasonic. Panasonic has a new model 37LZ800 out, but I can't find any user reviews. Any help out there?

I'm sure you would have better luck on the LCD TV forum.

But there's a review at Trusted Reviews of the 37LZD800.

This doesn't answer your question directly but you might like the story.
Called in at our local Panasonic shop and asked why are Panasonic selling large size LCD screens when in the past you convinced me that for 37" and higher you advise that plasma is the way to go. Answer came that the LCD was brought out simply because the majority of people buy LCD screens - regadless of size - and as a consequence Panasonic felt that they were losing out! They then went on to say that if you want it, we will sell it...... but it's not as good as their plasma screens.
Suggest you go to a shop where they sell both and compare one next to the other. I did and opted for the plasma. NB no regrets so far.

Re: Panasonic LCD TV 37LZ800 - where can I find reviews?

I have just bought a TX-37LZD800 after much research and after a couple of days adjusting settings am delighted with the purchase. I have been used to a HD-ready TX-32LXD60 for 2 years which itself had had good reviews (I use the Which online site as a pointer). The 800 is currently the highest-rated model (either LCD or plasma) for SD and HD picture quality and for sound quality. I must say that compared with the old model the 800 is superb in sound quality. The picture quality is also much better using its own Freeview source or a Sky Dish and playback quality from my 3 year old Sony HD DVD recorder is wonderful. Used to just acceptable image quality when viewing digital stills on the older model I tried viewing high quality images on the newer model and they are amazing. Sitting about 15 feet from the screen with the older model you could see the pixel effect yet with the newer model the images look as clear as they do on my Vaio laptop only dozens of times larger! As you get improvement in tv pictures you do tend to become aware of lower quality in transmission on some programmes- that shouldn’t be seen as a criticism of the set. Ie the BBC-i highlights of the rugby league quality is poor with the grass pitch a blur compared with live broadcasts from the UK. The on-screen setting controls are a joy on this new model and I like improvements such as showing on the EPG which programmes have already been tagged to be recorded. I await the arrival of my Humax Freesat pvr with twin tuner (which is why I didn’t consider one of the in-built Freesat models) to see HD picture quality. I expect to be amazed judging from the quality I saw at the dealership. I do not expect to get a blueray player in the near future as the software is overpriced. I paid 999UKP for my 800 with a 5-year guarantee and consider this is a good as it gets- not just for lcd but for either format. Incidentally Which says that the Panny plasmas are dreadfully power hungry (up to half a Kw!) whilst the 800 uses 200W. No small consideration with electricity prices unlikely to come down.
