Tiscali + box noise & size ?

I'm thinking about changing from the old silver homechoice to the black Tiscali + box but I'm a little worried that the box might be noisy - does it have a fan that is always on?

Does anyone have this dimensions of the box - i assume its quite a bit bigger than the silver box.

Also on a positive note I had an outage on both the TV service & internet connection - the helpdesk people were friendly & useful and got the problem solved early the next day - so I'm very happy with that

Re: Tiscali + box noise & size ?

I would stick with homechoice for as long as you can as tiscali are a whole different set up, my switch from homechoice to tiscali was a real nightmare and it seems to be the norm for most who make the switch.

On the other hand the pvr is pretty good, its a fair bit bigger and has the most annoying green light that is way too bright.
it does have a fan and it does hum abit but if you put a bit of felt under it you prob wont notice.

Its about the size of a a4 sheet and about 3 inches thick it does have a optical out as well so you can plug it through your amp.

All that said I would stay put until they force you to switch at least that way they will have to get you line ready for the switch quick and not like mine.

I had to wait 4 months just to have a box switched because tiscali have really bad comms with in there company and did not relay a simple message. I will racap that for you 4 MONTHS AND NO TV AND NO INTERNET

Good luck Darko

"Hum a bit"?! Nice use of litotes there! It sounds like a Dyson all the time... And I mean ALL THE TIME... The fan NEVER switches off even when the Tiscali + box is off.

It's really annoying but can be drowned out by a good surround system turned up nice and loud! It's the only way.
