V+ Transmitter/receiver problems

I have just about read every post known to mankind on this subject but still cannot find the solution as to why I have no picture on my second TV in the bedroom.

I have a Virgin V+ box and an LG 50" full HD plasma TV in my living room. I have a 19" Technosonic LCD, bought from Tesco, in my bedroom. I have just bought from Maplin, a Nikka HQ 5.8ghz video sender, A13HX. I have connected the scart lead from the transmitter in the living room into the VCR out, scart socket on the V+box. The IR eye is in front of the V+ box and the receiver is connected to the scart socket of the other TV. The TV and V+ box are connected via HDMI. So good, so far.

From the bedroom, I can change the channels on the V+ box but I have no picture and no sound on the bedroom TV.

I have fiddled about with the settings on the TV, Scart, S-vid etc, without success. I have tuned, retuned, and then retuned the TV again, no success. I have connected a second TV to the receiver, again, no success. I went and made a cuppa, again, no success.

I have to say that I am not as daft as some people think I look, but I cannot watch TV in my bedroom.

Does anyone have any ideas before I pull what little hair I have left, out.

Hi

Why would yo retune the TV its a scart input that is directly selectable on most TV's?

Have you tried connecting this TV temporarily directly by scart to the V+ VCR socket to ensure both the V+output and the TV input works?

Desparation, and I am as daft as some people think I look.

I will try connecting direct to make sure the output is working. Thank you.

Hi again just realised you are a new member!

Welcome to AVForums - I trust we can help you with your problem and that you may be able to help others.

Please let us know the result of the direct connection trial. We can then advise your next course of action to get your videosender working.

PS with a 50" Plasma I would sleep on the couch in the lounge!

I have now conducted extensive tests and have a picture and sound on my bedroom TV having plugged it in directly to the output scart. So I know the scart VCR output is working.

I have set it all up so that the sender/receivers are directly opposite each other. I have checked that the channels are the same and that all connections are tight.

I can only assume that the equipement is faulty somehow.

Resolved transmitter/receiver(video sender) problems.

I have now solved this issue. I have noted that the scart leads both say "transmitter sender. I think one of them should say "receiver". I have temporarily connected them together with an S-video(red, yellow and white) instead of the scart lead. This has worked.

I now have sound and vision in my bedroom, though could understand the desire to sleep in the lounge with the 50" plasma.

I will speak to Maplin about the scart lead.

Thank you for your help with this problem and a great forum.
