TV cable connection problem with Belling Lee connector

Hi

We have a Belling Lee like TV connector which doesn't fit the normal TV cable. Anyone knows how to get it connected to a common TV? what kind of cable should I use?

I attached a picture with measurements of this connector.

Thanks

April

Re: TV cable connection problem with Belling Lee connector

Hi Welcome to AVForums

Firstly this forum is for users of cable TV aand is not concerned normally with cable types.

you might be better off using

Interconnects, Speaker Cables and Switches - AVForums.com

However what you show appears to be a perfectly standard female coax socket - a normal male coax plug which is usually how coax feeds are terminated should fit? What is this plug/socket on?

Hi thanks for the prompt reply.

the standard coax would not fit I'm afraid. It's a very narrow female in the centre.

However you have not answered the question what is this connection on? The end of a cable = if so from what/where? If on the back of a TV/box if so what make type number and any label under/over/beside it ?

Would like to connect this socket to a TV (see attached picture) with a cable. My question is what kind of cable (or plus connector) to use? where for shopping?

Re: TV cable connection problem with Belling Lee connector

Please Please specify what this socket is on the back of!! Given that one can usually find a manual.....???

Please do not be concerned about out of date or lower grade kit - *(if someone came on here asking how to upgrade a 1950's TV I would be delighted to help them). I also have a cheapo Tesco LCD in my kitchen...it fills the bill!

I've no idea to be honest. I guess it's the external aerial behind it if this can give you any clue. It's coming through the roof. I can't climb onto it for any SN numbers.

So is it a socket on the wall?? If so I would replace it with a new one that takes a standard co-ax plug - you can get them for a couple of quid or so from the likes of Wilkinsons.
