Best way to tidy up cables/splitters??

Hi,

I recently had Virgin installed in a house i've been doing up. Now as we're doing the house in stages, we plan to use the front room as the living room for a bit while we get the lounge properly up together (needs a fireplace installing etc). The Cable comes into the houe from the front and into the front room where the guy put an isolator box. I'd already put a longish cable under the floorboard to take that signal into the lounge when it's ready. Now, the guy who installed it put the splitter on the end in the lounge but didnt attatch it to the wall or anything so i have a long cable coming out of the floor with a splitter on then 2 more metre or so long cables coming out of that. What i'd like to know is what is the best way to tidy it all up? What can i use to attach it to the wall and can i get rid of the crappy metal splitter he put in and have it split in a wall box of some sort?? I'd like to get it sorted before we have the carpet layed

Sorry if that doesn't make any sense, i'll try to explain myself better if anyone needs.

Many many thanks in advance.

Some options would be;
  • if you have a cellar - put the splitter box in there
  • put in a deep double metal socket box and hide the joints in there
  • hide the splitter behind the TV furniture
