| wiring 2nd stb in spare room
Hi Guys, first I have to apologise for my lack of techinical know how but here goes:
Pre digital switchover everything was great, I had a Ntl stb in the living room with a aerial running to the spare room so i could watch all the terrestial channels in there plus whatever i was watching in the living room could be viewed in the spare room.
After switchover this has gone off, so I have added a 2nd set top box in the spare room, but i cannot seem to hook it up properly. I have a two way splitter running off my main cable feed , 1 is used for the living room the other for spare room stb. The old cable is running from the living room thru the attic and into the spare room, it is a tv aerial cable (if that makes sense?) so i have split the cable feed and hooked it up to the aerial cable running thru the attic (which is extended by another cable) , added a 'f' plug adapter on the end (in spare room) and screwed it on to the ntl box. I though this should do the trick but no joy.
Do i need a specific cable for the stb to work?
Is the 'cable' faulty as it is extended in the attic?
Hope this makes sense!
