Virgin media 2 tv's remote controll help

I have put a 2 way splitter on my hdmi cable and can now watch TV upstairs in HD.I used to use a AV sender but got fed up with interference and no HD upstairs.

My question is how can I change channel upstairs? I see you can buy remote control extenders but how do these work? where do i plug them into?

Thanks

Re: Virgin media 2 tv's remote controll help

Most are designed for connection via a coax cable used for RF distribution. Some are available that just use a pair of wires or Cat 5 cable. If cabling's an issue there are wireless ones, I used to use a Powermid years ago which I see are still available.

The v+ box does use standard IR, not IRDA like some of the earlier (e.g. Pace) boxes.

regards

Brian
