Hd & HDMI

I am going to have my HDTV installed above my fire place.

I will soon have a V+ HD box, HD DVD also. I am wanting to get things ready and want some advice.

I assume I have to run 2 X HMDI cables or can I get away with 1? Does HMDI carry audio? or do I need to run some audio cables as well.

Are HMDI cable availiable in 15 meter lenghts does this affect the picture quality?

you can get away with one by using a hdmi switcher. aldi's had some in last week for £9,99 which was a three into one, and people on here said they were good so must be alright.

yes hdmi does carry audio .

hope this helps a little

If you're having it installed surley the installer knows what he's doing?

I wouldn't put just 1 HDMI plastered into the wall. What if it gets damaged at some point in the future? And what if cable TV goes down in your area, wouldn't it be handy to have freeveiw working as well? (Coax for this)

If there is any way possible make it so new cables can be pulled through at a later date. If not I'd say 2-3 HDMI's, a length of coax and a couple of lengths of CAT5e just to be sure. These things are worth doing properly.
