Receiver Problem

Hi there

While this isn't about Sky, I hope you guys can help me out. I got myself a Digital TV HD Recorder unit from my local cable provider here in Belgium (Telenet). But I'm having problems with the installation:

- All cables are properly conntected (ethernet, coax, etc.)
- I have to enter my region code etc, and the receiver starts looking for channels, which works.

Thereafter he restarts and begins looking for software updates. At first he is buffering, the numbers change every now and then. But after some time, it seems like the update turns very slow or doesn't go on at all. This is the screen I'm looking at:

The furthest I've got to is 1% progress. After about 30 minutes, the thing reboots itself and starts updating all over again. Which ends the same way.

I already contacted my provider support twice. First they told me to pick up a new HD recorder, because a factory reset didn't help (Which I did). But same problem with the new one, so I called again. Another tech guy just told me to unplug the coax, power off/on and hold a button untill it set 'Done. Rec Reset'. According to him everything should work now. But the problem is still here.

So I'm going to ring support once again now but in the meantime I'll post my problem here. My personal feeling is that the receiver doesn't receive a strong enough Coax signal and just times out? Regular cable TV works just fine though. Just as internet.

Thanks in advance!
