TTV+ failed recordings

My TTV+ box seems to be playing up a bit. I have had 2 failed recordings overthe last 2 weeks. OK so thats not so bad but they are failing for wierd reasons.
I have very good Freeview reception, and my old freeview recorder daisy chained from the output of the TTV+ box.
The problem:
1st failed recording was a BBC1 program and message said failed. When I checked for some reason the TTV+ box had deceided not forget that it did have BBC1 as a Freeview signal and tried to use IPTV to record from. After a rescan on the Freeview signal BBC1 was back as a Freeview signal.
2nd problem was the same apart from it was Channel 5. But this time my old freeview recorder (daisy chained from TTV+ box so same signal) recorded the C5 program perfectly!!!!
Again a rescan of the Aerial signal gave C5 as a freeview channel!!!!

So it seems that for some reason TTV+ keeps forgetting the Freeview signals and then failing to record from the IPTV signals.

Has anyone experienced a similar problem????

Overall the TTV+ box is great but I cant accept it if it keeps failing to record.
While I understand the odd failiure will occur, I am only recording a single program so surley if no freeview signal then use IPTV signal? Even so the Freeview signal was fine on the second failure and my other freeview box recorded it and that gets its aerial feed from the TTV+ output.

Re: TTV+ failed recordings

my one fails pretty much all the time on the free view channels and i live 5 mins from crystal palace (main signal) and have a wopping great big aerial,

I think its just the box, Of late my box just shuts down for no reason I think its something to do with the new updates as it never done it before but what ever you do dont ring tiscali as they have a room of guys thinking up male cow dung reasons for every thing that happens with there service.

As you say apart from all that the service is pretty good and as i dont watch much freeview tv it does not bother me too much.

cheers Darko

Re: TTV+ failed recordings

I've had similar problems as ched with channels being forgotten as freeview and switched to IPTV. Also constant picture break-up and freezing due to bad broadband signals.

My other problems are with recording long programs (ie movies) more than an hour. I go back to replay them for the first time and it will play the first 2 mins and then crash back to the main menu.

Contacted customer support a few times with very lengthy emails detailing the exact problems and typically get the response back "I have reset your network settings....blah blah blah".

I just can't be bothered anymore and will probably switch to another broadband provider and stick to freesat or plain ol freeview

Hi Chris.

Forgot about this thread and only just stumbled back on it.

See the image to what I'm struggling with randomly - sometimes it excitingly gets to yellow!

I've sent you a PM with my number attached to the Tiscali service

TTV+ failed recordings

No problem,

If you have any current examples on your STB or if you could report the failures if they happen in future and leave the recordings on the STB so we can examine them, that would be very helpful, thanks

Chris

I've only got one recording on the STB at the moment that doesn't play back - it gets to about 2mins and then doesn't go any further.

I'll check the other recordings and see if there is pixelation issues or play back problems. Seems to be only long recordings though.
