Mark, without meaning to put a dampener on things....is that how the cable will look?
The plastic purple boot looks, dare I say it, a bit cheap and nasty...

Hello Brogan,

Plastic, there top quality silicone rubber I think

I know what you mean, but people ask for them.

Looks a bit better in real life, the picture is a bit overexposed.

Boots could easily be cut off if anyone does not like them when cable arrives, or ordered without boots.

Presumably if the boot is removed you will just see the metal, hexagonal crimped sleeve?

Ah, much better

Out of interest, what improvement can one expect using one of these cables over a "standard" £20 Richer Sounds 5 metre interconnect?

As the sub is only ever utilised during the LFE portion of multi channel DVD's it would be difficult to test
I could re-configure my amp to direct all bass to the sub I suppose.

Mark,

2 Nr at 2m please.

Cheque for £58 will be in post 1st class tomorrow AM.

Any chance of them going with my other order if it hasn't already gone - 1M digi coax x 1, 1M component x 2, 12M component x 1 (you might save a little on the postage).

Regards,

Chris L.

Brogan,

I have never tried a Richer Sounds cable.

Results will depend on the subwoofer quality really.

a Subwoofer capable of real sub bass should benefit the most.

With a Servo 15 the results are excellent.

I am sure other people will comment when they have tried the cable.

How many metres do you need ?

Mark.

Hello Chris L.

Thanks for the order

Sent you email, (the other order has already been sent)

For a 'Y' sub cable you would need a 'Y' phono adapter, never seen a canare 'Y' two cables into one phono available yet.

thanks,

Mark.

Chips, I'm intrigued...what will you be using 3 sub woofer cables for - and 2 of them only 75cm?

Two Servo 15s (side by side) aprox. 5 metres from the processor connected via a single X-30 at the sub end .

Mark, if you don't mind my asking, how does a "subwoofer cable" differ in construction from a standard line-level interconnect? Is it actually optimised for low frequency signals in some way?

Other question: those of us who use a Behringer Feedback Destroyer as a parametric equaliser on the front end of the subwoofer would need a cable that has an RCA plug at one end but a mono 3.5mm jack plug at the other end - could you offer a similarly high-quality cable like this, or doesn't anybody make impedance-matched jack plugs?

Hello Rad,

Thanks for the order

Hello NicolasB,

The Canare LV77S is excellent as a subwoofer cable because of the Dual layers of braided bare copper screening (not tinned).

This gives a much lower resistance than the usual one layer of braid and one layer of foil. Great Hum rejection.

The Beekepers post mentions this, well worth a (long) read.

I doubt it was designed for subwoofer use, it just happens to be perfect for the job

I am sure you will hear good reports in a few days

Not sure on the inputs to a Behringher feedback destroyer, as I have never used one (yet). Something to look at when I get the time.

Mark.

Doh! I just realised I said 3.5mm. I should have said a 6.3mm mono jack-plug (or "1/4-inch" as Behringer call it).

You can get the manual for the BFD (in .pdf format) off Behringer's website. Click here, and go to page 19.

My cable arrived today(along with it's digital interconnect friend) and will be plugging into a jack adaptor in a BFD. I'll report back when I get a chance, but as this is a clandestine experiment it might be a while

Talking

OMFG....

It was my wife's birthday and she wanted to watch the extended edition of The Two Towers (which we hadn't had a chance to watch yet.)

I snuck in my newly ordered Mark Grant digital connect and subwoofer cable to see if they wouild be noticed :-)

Our house nearly collapsed....

This is nice stuff.

Mark,

Y-cable

Do you think their is any posibility of you being able to magic together.

1 Canare RCA male feeding two 10cm lengths of Canare LV77S that are each terminated with 1 female Canare RCA.

If so could you give me a price.

Regards,

Chris
