Component cable - Broadcast Reference Series – Belden 7710A

Broadcast quality component cables manufactured using Belden 7710A VideoFlex® Snake Cable for Precision Analogue and Digital Video.

Not available to buy anywhere else in the UK, this cable is specially imported from Belden USA.

Belden 7710A is a three-conductor version of Belden's famous 1694A video coax, the best of the new breed of high-bandwidth precision video cables.
Engineered for critical video applications, its exceptional bandwidth and low-loss characteristics make it perfect for use in carrying component video signals, even over long distances.

Belden 7710A is made of three 1694A coaxes, coloured red, green and blue, and wrapped together in a black outer jacket, making a bundle approximately 3/4 inch diameter. (20mm)

The cable is surprisingly flexible for it’s size

The three cores in the 7710A are tightly twisted to provide superior noise rejection, compared to three loose cores.

The cores of the 7710A are all the same length. (very important)

Component cables using three separate cables are very hard to produce, trying to keep the cores all the same length.

Termination is with Canare impedance matched RCA phono connectors.
These are high quality crimped connectors, considered to be the best for digital and Video applications.
Also available are Canare BNC connectors at no extra cost, for use with plasmas with BNC inputs etc.

All cables are hand assembled to the highest possible standards using Canare specialist tooling for the cable stripping and connector crimping. The Canare TC-1 crimp tool has been calibrated to provide a crimp connection that is exactly to Canare specifications.
caig products are used to clean and treat the core of the coax and crimp pin during the assembly process.

Nothing left to chance, perfection every time.

(thread updated with new reduced prices on 19/02/06)

Prices include UK delivery, no hidden charges ! , and is an absolute bargain for such a high quality and expensive Belden cable !!

The cable is HUGE in diameter compared to other cables, so look at the photos below comparing this 7710A cable to individual 1694A cable.

Everyone that has tested the cable for the last week, has been impressed by the performance and build quality

Might cost more than other cables, but that Plasma or projector is worth it.

Performance of this cable is absolutely superb !

Probably the last component cable you will ever need to buy.....

Post here to order, or with any questions.

Mark.

Hi Mark,

Would like to order a cable from you. Either going to be a 4m or 5m cable required.
Will double check size required this week and confirm if that is ok with you.

Thanks.

Being a beginner, I'm not sure what I'm going to need yet as I still haven't decided which TV and DVD player to go for. I will be buying a Component progressive dvd and tv though. I've been looking at prices for IXOS and QED component cables and seen them go as high as £99 for a 1 metre QED SCR-CV1 component cable. Is the Belden still better than this cable?

Thanks.

Hello Eatstatic,

Let me know the length of cable you need, you will be happy with it

Hello Andro,

It is the Canare 75 ohm phono connectors I use that make these cables so good. There are many makes of 75 ohm coax around, but hardly any with 75 ohm phono connectors fitted.

The Belden 7710A is a perfect cable, so are the connectors used

Never compared it to the QED SCR V1, that is a silver plated copper cored coax, but not sure about the connectors used, the canares takes some beating. Would be an interesting comparison.

I have an idea for a comparison of cables, will be in a different thread next week. Maybe a box of cables for home trial, component, digital coax, subwoofer cable etc.

thanks,

Mark.

Andro,

When The Beekeeper says that it is the best cable that he has ever seen, you can be sure that it is something special.

Mark is under playing the quality of the product here, if I was doing this I would do it no different to Mark and yes I have IXOS, QED, Chords and many of the other names at home. Some are fine (but expensive) but this is the Rolls Royce of cables at beer money. A no brainer This will simply be the last cable you ever buy

Arrow Quality.....

Hi all,
Can i chip in here.
I've been using Mark's cables for well 18 months, my whole cinema is now using his cables including the mains.
If anyone has any doubts as to the benefits of using his cableing in one word...DON'T...these are HAND BUILT cables using the best cables & plugs money can buy, you will not find a better quality cable at this price point this side of the Atlantic.
I keep seeing people advertise for component/rgb/co-axial et-al "must be cheap" come on peeps your 3-4 grand PJ/plasma/rear PJ TV deserves better.
Cheers.
Tim. (biased.....you bet )

Hi Mark,

I am interested in getting this cable. Would appreciate your advice please.

Am wondering whether to buy a 1m or 2m cable. My Hitachi media box sits on top of my DVD player, so 1m should do fine, I think, but being the cautious chap I am, was wondering if buying 2m would be a good idea "just in case".

My question is, will the length of tha cable have any effect on the quality of the picture to the human eye??

Hello again....

Mark thankyou for your reply regarding the fact it is the plugs you use that also help the fact this cable is the mutts nuts.
But being a complete newbie I'm afraid I have to ask the question from a newbies point of view who has never owned a widescreen, plasma, lcd, rpt or likwise as of yet... Would I honestly notice the difference from say a IXOS or THOR or QED cable compared the cables your selling... I know I probably would if i saw 2 tv's side by side, but I have to look at cost and I can only trust your honest professional opinions, but I do and I thankyou for that. Just its hard to know without seeing or actually knowing, if you see what I mean. hmmmm... Considering I probably won't buy my TV until after christmas I hope to come back and buy a cable from you, so would be nice to know if you can get more incase im too late to order one
Thanks.

Andy.

With these cables you get what you pay for, with consumer cables like IXOS, THOR, QED, you don't, it's that simple

Hello Andro,

I doubt you will get better for the price.

Beekeeper sums it up really well, top quality for beer money.

When you get the new TV, I will still have some, you will not miss out

If the same cable was sold by a leading AV brand/marketing name, people would pay many times the price and still be happy...

Hello Niraj,

I really doubt you will notice any loss comparing 1M to 2M.

But remember that the cable is a large diameter, so having a spare metre hanging behind the AV rack just for the sake of it might not be the best way. Depends how much room you have really.

Hope that helps you decide,

Mark.

If Mark can't do that you might want to look at bettercables . I believe Joe Fernand on these forums is a dealer for them in the UK.

Hello Mr THX,

The Belden 7710a used for the cables in this thread is far too large to fit into a VGA plug.

Would need to be a much smaller cable, such as the RG179 size that Vonhosen has linked to.

I am fairly sure I have some of the cable, can you let me know the length you need, I will have a look and let you know.
(You can mail me from my profile)

Thanks,

Mark.
