Default Modem/Router Settings for BT?

Hi

Can someone advise the settings I should have on a modem router for connecting to BT BB?

Are the settings standard?

I would call BT for their help, but this is my dads connection, they recently moved house and he does not have any paper work to hand. He tells me BT have setup the BB connection for the new house.

FYI the ADSL Modem/Router is model F5D7630-4A.

Thanks

Re: Default Modem/Router Settings for BT?

If the router has been used in the old house Ok then it should work in the new one once you have not changed ISP's etc.
Or just ring up BT once you are in your new house and ask for BT Broadband talk and if you are on option 3, even possible on option 2 I think they will send a BT Home hub.

Re: Default Modem/Router Settings for BT?

They are VPI/VCI 0/38 & PPoA.

As a User Name use broadbanduser@btbroadband.com (or whatever you were using at the old house) with no Password.

However as has been said, if it worked in the old house it will work in the new one. This is because BT use standard settings, User Name, and no Password because they authenticate on the telephone line/number.

In other words I would be inclined not to fiddle with the Routers's settings.

It should be plug and play using the home hub. They dont let you change many settings

Except that the OP doesn't have a Home Hub, he has a Belkin router.

It isn't a matter of letting people change settings, if you get those settings wrong it won't work and so the HH is pre-configured. All the other HH settings you can do what you like with.
