Have heard some good things about those power line adapters.
ANy specific brand or model?

Sorry no first hand experience with them myself.

I'm sure someone will be along in a minute to help you though.

These seem to be very popular - but only 200Mbps. But seeing as I'll only be getting 70Mbps, shouldn't be a problem should it? TP-Link TL-PA211KIT 200Mbps Mini Powerline Ethernet Adapter - Twin Pack: Amazon.co.uk: Computers & Accessories

Or these are 500Mbps but double the price http://www.amazon.co.uk/Link-MBps-Gi...225320&sr=1-13

I use Belkin Play HD ones but they may be a bit excessive for just internet as they are gigabit adapters, the only reason I use these is due to the fact I use them to stream videos from my media server.

I'd imagine any 200mbps ones would do fine, I've heard a few people have had issues using 80mbps ones. But I dont have any experience with either so maybe someone else can comment on them

I think I picked up my last pair of Belkin Play HD ones from ebay for around £45.

In my set up I use 3 Belkin Play HD's I have one to my router, one to my media player and one to a switch which is then hooked up to my pc and my media server.

I think when I first set things up I used a 200mbps adapter but I could never get it to stream Blu ray rips smoothly without buffering so I moved up to the ones I'm using know.

There are only really two things I dont like about the Belkin ones, first they have 3 bright blue leds on the front which can be annoying if you can see them, so I covered them with some electrical tape lol. The second is they have no passthrough I think its called, in other words they have no plug socket on them, so when you use them you will be taking up a plug socket completely but thats nothing major.

I crumbled! On me lunch so called 800 800 150 on the mobile (being the fool that I am) and upgraded within mins after going through the options.

Estimated 61.5 down / 20 up so will post the true results once activated.

Sounds like it all depends on who you speak to mate. Would suggest you call back again and hopefully you'll get the right person this time.

Went through the broadband sales option and luckily I spoke to some northern girl who knew what I was talking about!

I just called up, using the number 150 from the homephone, spoke to a chap who upgraded it in about 5 minutes from start to the end of the call. All went rather well and it's supposed to go live within 3 working days.
Once ordered you can check the status under My BT, mine now shows:

Up to midnight

Fri 13 Apr

In Progress

I don't think I'm going to see any improvement as *only* get 28Mb down, 5Mb up which is a shame but hardly the end of the world.

For those who were quoted 3 days, log into your BT account online and check there. I was quoted 3 days too but they guy who dealt with my request told me they had to quote 3 days but in reality it could be much quicker than that. I checked my account and it's due for activation tomorrow by midnight, estimated to get 76mb/18mb too.

Mine is also due on the 13th by midnight and I only ordered it today, so perhaps they do them in batches.

I've been quoted as 56 down and 15 up, but I know from when the engineer came to visit, my line was syncing at 76 down and 18 up (i.e. the highest it can go right now). So I don't think the checker is all that accurate

Yeah BT tell me 61.5mb but I'll be more than happy with anything between. 60-65mb.

Well when I had Infinity installed last year, he checked the line and it was syncing at 40/10

Thanks Tom. But I just read the reviews on Amazon for this one and it got totally slated. Justifiable?

I just rang the 0800 800 150 from my iPhone, using the 0800 Wizard app (so it routes through an 01 number).

Spent 5 mins on the phone and it's all done.

51 down and 13 up apparently and it'll come into effect in the next 3 working days.

I currently get 39 down and 7 up, so I'm happy with 51/13, but hopefully it will be higher, as I was originally estimated at 27 down.
