The famous online blogger Belle De Jour has today been unmasked, through her own volition, as Doctor Brooke Magnanti, a 34-year old research scientist from Bristol!

Her story has been broken in today's THE SUNDAY TIMES on the front cover, and in the News Review section, where she is also interviewed about her 14-month long period as a high-class escort.

To anyone who has read her books (Secret Diary Of A Call Girl and Further Adventures Of A Call Girl), or her online blog, Dr Magnanti does come across exactly like Belle, in her tone and mannerisms.

It's a shame that this great literary scandal of the past 8 years has been concluded, as it's been fun keeping people on tenterhooks wondering if Belle was a real courtesan, let alone actually female!
