Richard Morgan - Altered Carbon plus subsequent kovacs books.

Greg Bear - Forge of God.

BTW, it'll be Iain M. Banks for the Sci-Fi stuff like his Culture series and The Algebraist.

The books written as Iain Banks are more mainstream writing like The Crow Road and The Wasp Factory.
