Rome series 1 - Special Packaging?

I've had Rome series 1 sittng on the shelf for ages, so I just cracked it open to check an episode out and noticed that it is in a wooden case, as I'm clearing all my DVDs out to make way for Blu's I'll be selling it on shortly and I wondered if this was a special packaging or are they all like that?

It's not that special and wouldn't command any more in resale.

No Idea, but after watching just the first episode yesterday I'm seriously tempted to hold off watching anymore until it is, the first episode was great fingers crossed the rest is too. I've waited this long to start watching it a few more months until the Blu inevitably drops wont make any difference.

Re: Rome series 1 - Special Packaging?

I watched HDTV rips of this show and they were really nice, but its still no where near as nice as it will look on blu!

Im pretty sure they filmed this show in HD so it will eventually make its way.

HBO have already released Band Of Brothers on Blu Ray and it was amazing.

Im sure they are probably working on Rome too.

Re: Rome series 1 - Special Packaging?

To answer the original query, yes Series 1 came in a wooden box (I don't know about later releases).
