Re: What is a digital copy?

So are there DRM issues with these Digital Copies? I notice a lot of Dvd's these days offer these as a bonus. I would assume there has to be some kind of DRM involved to prevent these from being shared? Otherwise only one person ever need buy the Dvd and then share the Digital Copy with everyone else...

Also, what kind of quality are these Digital Copies? Are they scaled down versions that take up little memory (Obviously if they are to be viewed on a portable device such as an iPod, then I would think they would have to be of a lower quality than the actual Dvd files to take up less space)

Re: What is a digital copy?

I can see the functionality of the digital copies and the fact that they are trying to deter folk from downloading illegally but this doesnt move from the fact that for a digital dvd you have to pay about 30% more

Re: What is a digital copy?

Personally I think digital copies are a waste of time. Read the reviews of discs which include them and you will see that they are generally regarded as little more than expensive tea coasters.
