Howl's Moving Castle R2 DVD oddity

A friend has just lent me a R2 copy of Howl's Moving Castle. Played on my Oppo DVD player, the movie permanently displays the "multi-angle" icon: nothing I can do will make it go away. I've tried fiddling with the Setup menu, I've tried selecting the alternative angle option and then going back to the main one - nothing works.

Any thoughts and suggestion will be very welcome!

Bert

This happens with Gavin And Stacey series 2 on my Yamaha. I had to swap it over to my HD DVD player.

All the best

Brian, thanks for that. It sounds like some sort of curious mismatch between the disc and the Oppo, then. Tonight I'll try it in my Panasonic HDD/DVD recorder.
