Universal's Region B (locked) Blu-ray is out on Monday....

This has had excellent reviews (88% at RT.com) and was nominated for 'Best Foreign Language Film of the Year' at this year's Oscars....think I might give it a go.

I have to say, that I'm bemused at it being locked to Region B.

Has this been confirmed as region locked?
If it has it can only be because of distribution contract obligations,as it seems to be distributed by different companies in different countries.It's Universal in the UK and Warner in the US thats the only reason either one of these studios would lock a title.

Picked it up today,(bit of a trawl to find, HMV only stocked it and I hate shopping there), extras are a making of and some trailers. The cover says it's a BD-25...

I'm waiting for this as i pre ordered it from thehut and it was shipped last week, but still hasn't got to me.

Spec's on the US release are very thin on the ground on the net most sites don't even have the cover art after the shifting release date.
What dose the UK version have audio wise?

Well I'm glad there's an explanation regarding the subs, because I was half annoyed, half flummoxed. They look like something Channel 4 used years ago. BUT, if that's how they were shown theatrically, then that's fine.

I think that the US release will better this one, given that the UK disc is crammed on a BD-25 with a low-bitrate.

I watched this a few weeks back and enjoyed it a lot. Even though the film is on a single layer, the picture was extremely sharp and the sound was quite incredible too.

10/10 Sound
