Stargate Extended (US) vs. Special Edition (UK)

I’ve just found out that Optimum are releasing a Special Edition bluray of the Stargate movie. I’m actually a little annoyed because I got so tired of waiting for a release in the UK that I went and bought the US Extended Edition instead. I been trying to find out what, if any, benefit’s the UK release may have over the US version, but there are not tech specs listed on Play.com or Amazon.co.uk and I can’t locate bluray releases on the Optimum website. Any ideas?
