Indy Trilogy HD-DVD ??

Hey guys....

I know that paramount signed with HD-DVD and was wondering if any1 knew if the Indiana Jones Trilogy was still gonna be released?

Obviously the format is discontinued but surely the dvds were due to be released now and some production of them must have gone ahead before the announcement...

Ah well, keeping my fingers crossed

They will definitely 1,000,000% NOT be released on HD DVD.

Re: Indy Trilogy HD-DVD ??

To my knowledge, there will be possibly a few more HD DVD releases:

Death Proof (German import 30/6):

http://www.amazon.de/Death-Proof-Tod...1360545&sr=1-1

Disco Pigs (US import 24/6)

http://www.amazon.com/Disco-Pigs-DVD...9805797&sr=1-1

Charlie Wilsons War (Dutch import 19/6)

http://www.nl.bol.com/is-bin/INTERSH...&lgl_Section=1

Apparently Bol.com have confirmed that CWW will see the light of day.

Re: Indy Trilogy HD-DVD ??

It was Warner who said they were going to release 'select' titles on HD DVD after June but I'm pretty sure this was just to placate unhappy HD DVD owners at the time.

Well hopefully the blu-ray will be sold individually as they're doing with the dvds - i really don't want to own temple of doom.

I believe the Warner release was just after they left HD-DVD, but, since HD-DVD is dead, They won't be making anymore, fullstop.

It'll most likely be a trilogy set first, then individual later.

Makes them more money.

As far as I knew the Weinstiens stepped in and stopped Planet Terror and Death Proof a long time back, and said not a chance in hell any country can have them. I guess they want america first.

It just seems a bit hacked together, like they've changed the script millions of times without reading it through and realising how drawn out and senseless it all is. It's all a bit silly and far fetched really, even by Indiana Jones standards. It's definitely the weakest Indy film, even below Temple of Doom (hell, at least that had the cool mine chase!). But that's just me.

I hope they release them all separately anyway, I only want Raiders and Last Crusade. Although I don't have a Blu Ray player yet, so doesn't matter too much for now, they're not going to be coming out on HD DVD.

I think you're being kind. It was atrocious IMHO. Would still love the original trilogy on Blu-ray **drool**. Even if I have to have the memory destroying Crystal Skull debacle in the set.

Re: Indy Trilogy HD-DVD ??

Paramount has already backed out of releasing its planned Star Trek HD-DVD releases, so its a fair bet that if its biggest mone spinner isn't coming out on HD-DVD, then its second, Indy, won't either.

I liked 4th indy film - Ive heard the criticism but for me I walked out of the cinema with a grin , and that says it all

Hope Indy films are out one way or another soon, either individually or as a four pack (hate it when like Die Hard , they release all but one - esp a middle one)

It not to bad actually, not as good as raiders or crusade but better than doom IMO. Probably a 7 out of 10 film.

People have just jumped on the OTT criticism badwagon similiar to when the new star wars films came out.

I liked two of the three Star Wars prequels...

While I think 7/10 is generous, I wouldn't go as far as attacking it and saying it's 3/10. I'd go with 5/10. Average film (at best), which means hugely disappointing for an Indy film.

Re: Indy Trilogy HD-DVD ??

a little off topic, the crystal skull isn't a great film in my opinion, but i hate people saying its unbeliveable. it is no more unbelivable than a load of religious relics that have supernatural powers. the film is about as beliveable as the bible, and kerahn (duno how to spell it) and other religious texts.

Yea I can appreciate that point of view.

I'm sure I shall still enjoy it.

Waiting for the blu ray box set of all 4 before I watch it I think.
