The Warriors - Comic book transitions problems

Just received my copy of The Warriors on Blu-ray. Had a quick look just to check it out, and noticed some problems with the comic book transitions that have been inserted into the movie as part of the director's cut.

It's as if the new bits have been filmed on interlaced video, and then badly deinterlaced when mastered for HD. As soon as there is motion in the comic book bits there is horrible blurring. When you step pause through these sections, you can see that each frame seems like two separate frames mixed together.

It can be seen right from the start, as soon as the first bit has finished panning down slowly, it does a quick pan up and to the right, and the blurry artifacts are really jarring and out of place.

Has anyone else noticed this? I'm surprised no one seems to have mentioned this issue in any online reviews of the disc, but then I rarely trust online reviews as the review equipment they use always seems to be lacking.

For reference, I'm using a PS3 with forced 1080p 24Hz output switched on, sent to a Pionner LX608D. The PS3 and the TV are not doing any deinterlacing, so it seems this issue is in the source itself.

Thoughts people?

All I can say is I didn't notice on the HD-DVD, I could check certain times for you, but it's pointless on another format. Although it you post the times this occurs someone with the BR version may check theirs for you?

The first instance is right at the start. Exactly 50 seconds in. It's blur central. I would assume the HD DVD will be the same as I'm guessing they were both taken from the same video master. I'll try and get a screenshot up at some point if I can.

Ok, here is a screenshot. It's taken with a camera as opposed to a frame grab, but believe me, what you see in the shot is what's on the screen, and is not any blurring from the camera.

As the pan gets faster, the blurring gets worse. This shot is when it's at its worst. It looks like 4 separate frames all blurred together at this point.
