U571 Blu-ray only in 1080i?

Just sampled my B-R copy of U571 on the PS3 and it shows as being 1080i, is this correct?

No info other than "full1080" on the case and no reference to interlaced or progressive, bummer.

Looks the case after reading reviews, only HD-DVD is 1080p, lucky i have a copy of that too.

I thought every Blu-ray had to be 1080/24p, and the player then scales that to what the TV can handle.

Apparently not, bit of false advertising here if you ask me as we are all led to believe all BR disks should be 1080P24 and to see no mention on the case only fullHD 1080 is misleading.

The actual player does no scaling, it's the display that does this to it's own native resolution if not 1080.
