Japanese Hd Dvd / Blu Ray

hi - my friend is going to japan on thursday and asked if i wanted anything. can anyone recommend any JPN exclusives on either format ?? thanks

Band of Brothers on HD-DVD is a Japan exclusive at present and if they can be picked up for a decent price I would get them.

I was out there a few weeks ago and if he can find anywhere that sells them he's lucky!! The bluray selections were slim in the major stores and a few specialist places didn't have much either! ....as for HD DVD (as I also wanted Band of Brothers) couldn't find it anywhere, let alone any others!!)

Blu-rays and HD DVD are mostly stocked in electronic stores like Yodobashi and Bic Camera located in places like Shinjuku and Akihabara.

cheers guys - ive been doing some searching on the net and it seems there is only a handful of exclusives that i would be after - equilibrium and band of brothers - i will see what he comes back with. again thanks to all

thanks - I was only in Shibuya and didn't get a chance to go to Akihabara. Time before that the missus was with me and wasn't exactly too excited being dragged around electronics town!! I suppose its the same as me been dragged shoe-shopping

Anyone know if The Prestige is region free? The US version isn't, but can't find any info on the Japanese version.

I was in Japan in January and the only place I saw a decent selection of HD/BD disks was in Bic Camera and they ain't cheap!!!
