Future Disney/Pixar Animation Releases

Walt Disney Pictures and Pixar Animation Studios have announced the future animation line-up for the two studios (Pixar is now wholly owned by Disney). While not all the announced films are are surprises - the Summer release of 'Wall-E' and the upcoming 3-D releases of the popular 'Toy Story' films - we do get a peek at some great previously unannounced films.

2008
Wall*E (Pixar)
Bolt (Disney Animation)
Tinker Bell (DisneyToon)

2009
Up (Pixar)
Toy Story 3-D (Pixar)
The Princess and the Frog (Disney Animation)
Tinker Bell North of Neverland (DisneyToon)

2010
Toy Story 2 3-D (Pixar)
Toy Story 3 3-D (Pixar)
Rapunzel (Disney Animation)
Tinker Bell A Midsummer Storm (DisneyToon)

2011
Newt (Pixar)
The Bear and the Bow (Pixar)
Tinker Bell A Winter Story (DisneyToon)

2012
Cars 2 (Pixar)
King of Elves (Disney Animation)

Why is this on *******.com? Well, it turns out that the Tinker Bell films have all been confirmed for Blu-ray release. Sure, in actuality all of these films will be Blu-ray as well, but as of today, only the Tinker Bell films have been confirmed.

Edit: There has been some confusion regarding these dates. Any films that are from Pixar or Disney Animation are dated as theatrical releases. The home media releases would come a short time after. The films from DisneyToon are all home media release dates.

Cars 2?!

I haven't got around to seeing Cars yet, but wasn't that deemed to be the "worst" and "least-successful" of all Pixar's recent releases?

I loved Cars (a guilty pleasure), I thought it was one of the most clever Pixar films...and it stands up to repeat viewings. That is more than I can say for the Incredibles, which was great first time round at the cinema, but was a complete borefest on DVD.

IMO it is the worst, it just doesn't seem to work for me, and its overly long.

My faves are TS2, Monsters Inc, TS1, Nemo/Bugs Life, Incredibles (in that order). I think Pixar have passed their prime and may be running out of ideas - but I hope not.

Re: Future Disney/Pixar Animation Releases

I recently bought the Pixar Shorts Blu-ray Disc.

It is an absolute joy, and enthralls kids and adults alike.

And babies.

In terms of actual minutes of footage it's quite short, and I suppose you don't get as much for your money as you might, but some of the shorts are a wonder to behold.

Cars 2? Blimey.

*SPOILERS AHEAD FOR PEEPS WHO HAVEN'T SEEN THE FIRST ONE*

I suppose he'll have to win his race in the second film beings he didn't win a single race in the first one!

Re: Future Disney/Pixar Animation Releases

I suppose that you need to intimately understand the American love affair with the Car in order to understand "Cars". There are many many 'in-jokes' about the American Psycy and how people over there live their eveyday lives, that us Brits find totally alien...even after 10 series of Friends

Exclamation Re: Future Disney/Pixar Animation Releases

Shouldn't this be in the Movies forum (as opposed to in here in the HD Movies section)?

W.A.L.L-E. looks very entertaining, and the animation is astonishingly beautiful!
