HD DVD final tallies

I have 64 HD DVD films on my shelves.

Add 2 non-film HD DVDs makes it 66.

Add 1 HD DVD my little girl has (Music and Lyrics) makes 67.

Add 1 currently on loan to a friend makes 68.

Add 5 currently ordered and on their way makes 73.

Add 2 still to be released which I'll be buying (Sexy Beast and East is East) makes a nice even 75.

In February this year there were a total of 386 titles released on the format, so I don't think I've done too badly.

The only one I missed that I'd have likes was the Jack Ryan Collection, but I think it still comes up on e-bay - I'll have to check the prices.

Think it's a bit early for final totals with the Sales still going strong.

Reckon i'll get into the 40/50's over the coming weeks/months.

Waiting for PE and Heroes HD DVD at £20 or below

Also Pans Lab at sub £10 as well will be a bonus.

Someone one the forums has been offering £55 for the Jack Ryan collection but no takers

Wife has gone mad because 6 from play, 1 from amazon.de and 1 from amazon marketplace dropped through letter box this morning and I was at work....ooops.

When BSG arrives from ezydvd she'll blow a gasket.

As for HD DVD tallies, I've got 140 individual titles and three boxsets of television (Trek/Heroes/BSG), with another 5 discs on order/in the post. And I amassed most of my collection before the fire sales.

Up to around 110 HD-DVDs, only ones I want are In the Valley of Elah and I am Legend...waiting for those to drop before buying them

I also want the Jack Ryan collection but you've gotta be nuts to spend alot on it...it'll be coming out on BluRay soon no doubt.

Smurfin, that's my thinking, too.

The Blu-ray Disc will inevitably arrive - it was coming on BD anyway before Paramount jumped ship.

And it won't be £90+ if I have to get it shipped via fighter jet from Iraq!

Total 86 HD-DVD's

inc parts 4-5 Band of Brothers still to be shipped from Play-Aisa
plus Jack Ryan collection for £34 from Axelmusic 1 month ago looks like that was the buy of the year.
2 copies of Planet Earth 1 U.S., 1 U.K. freebee from 2 Entertain as U.S. had damaged 4th disc.

Think i'll call it a day on HD now 1st Blu is Close Encounters (yet to decide which player to buy) Just bought a EP35 from Amazon £120 yesterday that means my very expensive E1 (£450 back in Feb 07) is now my back up machine.

107 HD-DVDs - I've only bought one (Stardust) since the Warner announcement and while I really want films such as Atonement and American Gangster in HD, I think I'll wait.

Especially as the price of BDs from some online suppliers are coming down. Just hit 64 BDs, with the last purchases being Con-Air, Crimson Tide and The Rock for £10.99 each from Movietyme. Thats almost the same price as walking into HMV and buying just one of those titles......!

I've got 74 HD DVD titles and another two ordered from SendIt though whether or not they'll ever arrive is open to question. I also have 32 Blu-rays though I expect that tally to overtake that of my HD DVD collection before the year is out.

I have 31 HD-DVD's with a couple more on order. im sure there will be more added to this count as i plan to keep buying HD's as long as there are offers around. the only reason i would choose a more expensive blu-ray over a cheap HD is if i can guaranty that the PQ/Sound/Extras will be better on the BD

For a comparison I have 23 Blu-rays

I now have around the 80 mark I think. Just bought 2 more this morning. Only a handful left to get now so I think I will be done around 90.
Only have 22 Blu at the moment but I can see this going up very soon.

Its currently sitting on 75 (boxed sets counting as 1). Not sure I will get many more, but then there's not been many on either format so far this year that have really made me go out and order. Last one T2 Ultimate Edition came through the door on Friday.

I still have Bee Movie and Sweeney Todd up on pre-order with movietyme though

I'll have to count when I get home, but I think I'm on about 40 Blu-ray Discs (EDIT - it's 43 BDs, with I think 2 more on the way).

The numbers received quite a boost over Christmas when all the BOGOF and 3-for-2 sales were on.

The thing is, I've got almost all the Blu-ray Discs I want that are already released. There are one or two I might be tempted to buy if I can get them for c.£8, but I'll not be trawling the 3-for-2 deals anymore, as they've fast become a litany of "...got it...got it...don't want it...got it...don't want it...", etc.

Unfortunately there's not much on the horizon at the moment for this year.

Butch Cassidy & the Sundance Kid in May and The Shawshank Redemption in November, and that's about it from America. Black Narcissus, Groundhog Day and Great Expectations over here.

I'm pretty sure we'll see There Will Be Blood when the dust settles, but that aside the studios must do better.

I'd love to see the Leone films, Broken Flowers and A History of Violence, the last 2 have beed on SKY HD, so there's hope. Oh, and how about Dead Poets' Society, which is apparently due in Germany and The Netherlands.

So far 130 Hd-dvd's and 131 Blu-rays.
Currently 4 more hd's on order and 5 more blu-rays.
Really ought to slow down now as I have exhausted the Hd-dvd side of things (that I want, anyway).
Can see it ending up as 140 Hd's and ad infinitum for blu-rays.

In the Valley of Elah has just arrived.

I'm now just waiting for Reservoir Dogs and Sexy Beast.

The end is nigh, and I'm feeling a little sad.
