Region B discs - do they bother coding them?

Might seem an odd question but do most suppliers bother coding region B discs as actually being region B?

I guess what i'm asking is what % of region B discs end up working on US region A machines?

If a high % of region B releases aren't region coded for B, then it makes much more sense buying a region A player. Assuming i want to buy from the US and rent from the UK..

My thinking being that presumably region B are pretty much the last to be released (and most expensive) so why bother region coding them? (I might be thinking to rationally here for the studios though

)

Experiences?

(Note I'm talking mainly about studios known to region code like fox/sony/disney rather than warners)

I had Region B X MEN 3 and that wouldnt work on my US ps3

If disks here are encoded then they will be Region B. After all region C might want them. Presumably films will just be appearing at their cinemas by then.

So it looks like the short answer is yes they still code them.. Particularly the kings of DRM fox.

Ohh well better get saving for a Region B with a multimod then!

I've had a Region A player for a long while now. I've found that most Region A releases are encoded, but few Region B are encoded.

I've therefore bought 75% A and 25% B discs to date. Only bought B where they were (rarely) cheaper or out first (eg. Spiderman Trilogy and Starship Troopers).
