'Sunshine' US Bluray

Got this the other day and have to say it's a good disc. Picture quality and sond are great and there's some great documentaries on it along with a fantastic commentary by Dr. Brian Cox. It utilises the 1.1 profile although I have to say, the way it's implemented is nowhere near as good as 'u-control' on HD-DVD. On this disc it's pretty 'clunky' and the border around the PIP commentaries is horrible.

I've got a question. One of the features is an opportunity to play with the sound mix on certain scenes. It says that this will only work with 5.1 set-ups and 1.1 enabled players. So, my US PS3 has the 1.1 update and I'm listening over optical through a 5.1 system. This feature uses five buttons on a control panel to 'steer' the sound, however, when I try to use it, I'm only presented with a stereo soundtrack so the feature doesn't work?

Maybe it only works over HDMI audio?

Any ideas anyone?
