I really hope that the UK Blu-ray is regionally coded.

It should be - Disney code all their new title US releases.

I'm pretty fed up to be still waiting for news on whether or not Image Entertainment's 'Breaker' Morant (US-only release) is regionally coded. If it is, I may never get to see it in high def.

Time these septics got some of their own medicine, methinks.

To be honest I'm pretty sure this film will be one I'll want to keep,so I'd rather buy it on blu ray given recent events.

Well this is being released on Blu-Ray in the US (not sure what Paramount are like with Region-Coding)

So i'd guess coming to blu-Ray UK else well soon enough.

Saw this today, I'd been pretty miffed at TWBB getting an Oscar for its cinematography instead of the Jesse James movie, but watching TWBB I was mesmerised by how good it looked, almost like a living thing, another participant in the cast. Whichever HD format it appears on I'm sure it will look great.

Paramount will release "There Will Be Blood" on DVD and HD DVD this April 8th.

It will be released in a single DVD edition containing only the movie. A 2 Disc Collector's Edition will also be released on DVD and HD DVD. Extras include extra scenes, making offs and more.

It is worth mentioning that Paramount have not responded to Toshiba's decision to discontinue HD DVD. If this will effect the HD DVD release is unknown.

Synopsis:
A sprawling epic of family, faith, power and oil, THERE WILL BE BLOOD is set on the incendiary frontier of California´s turn-of-the-century petroleum boom. The story chronicles the life and times of one Daniel Plainview (Daniel Day-Lewis), who transforms himself from a down-and-out silver miner raising a son on his own into a self-made oil tycoon. When Plainview gets a mysterious tip-off that there´s a little town out West where an ocean of oil is oozing out of the ground, he heads with his son, H.W. (Dillon Freasier), to take their chances in dust-worn Little Boston. In this hardscrabble town, where the main excitement centers around the holy roller church of charismatic preacher Eli Sunday (Paul Dano), Plainview and H.W. make their lucky strike. But even as the well raises all of their fortunes, nothing will remain the same as conflicts escalate and every human value – love, hope, community, belief, ambition and even the bond between father and son – is imperiled by corruption, deception and the flow of oil.

Paramount have anounced they will cease production of HD-DVD discs with effect from 5 March i.e. today so sadly it looks unlikely they will be releasing TWBB on HD-DVD after that date.

Its not that they me be right its that i was an avid fan of thedigitalbits way back when sd dvd started out all them years ago !!

They were allways neutral on divx-dvd etc etc

but the format war they were not !!! hence !!

I do not use there sight as i believe in fair unbiased coments on both formats as a multi format website HD DVD / BLU /DVD !!!!! they are not !!

They backed the winner and for the right reasons i.e. they picked the format that was most likely to win. It's not like they had any inflence on the outcome.

I believe they backed both formats until he was influenced $$$$$$$ with some advertising rights on his web site etc etc

some one here can elaborate on this further !!!

Only rumours but I have heard the UK blu-ray will be released on June 23rd.
