Harry Potter HD DVD

Are the US and UK releases of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix identical or not?

If not then what are the differences?

Thanks

Don't think the US release is a combo, how would that work ? The UK SD-DVD and HD-DVD are two disc sets, so you'd have a 4 disc combo...

Re: Harry Potter HD DVD

Strange that Japan and the Netherlands (and main Europe?) have gotten the best version of Harry Potter 5.

Just bought a 2-disc version with all extra's in 1080p, costing 20 euro's. Normally our prices are higher than in England.

Slim box too. Might even be worthwhile to import to England (English subtitles, etc).

Hi. Do you have a link to anywhere I can buy the copy from The Netherlands?

I don't know who ship abroad: bol.com and rodisc.nl. Both are rather expensive, I bought mine from a local shop. Our version has a dutch cover though!

A link to a Dutch review of the BD-version was already posted elsewhere I believe. The BD-version contains a dozen languages or so, but no IME or internet content.

Are the extras on the UK version not 1080?

Re: Harry Potter HD DVD

The Blu-Ray is the same as the US release as it has the threat of a $250,000 fine if you pirate it.

Cheers

As far as I am aware there is no second disc with the UK one, the first disc is virtually identical.

You'd have a two disc combo, not a 4 disc combo.

The UK HD DVD is a two disc set, the BD is a single disc

Strange, amazon.co.uk mentions it as a 1-disc version.

Anyways, the extra's on the Dutch HD-DVD edition are in 1080i/1080p.

So much for the accuracy of Amazon. But the extra's are in 480p, right? Otherwise it would be almost identical to our version.

Re: Harry Potter HD DVD

Well, then there doesn't seem to be a reason to buy from abroad. Except maybe for the box size and for the extra's in the US HP 1-5 boxset.

Re: Harry Potter HD DVD

I`ve got a strange Harry Potter-the order of the phoenix, there were two number 1 disc`s in it. Not 1 and 2. Also when I tried playing one of them, the tv resolution were real different, sharper than normal in a way.. The film stopped playing after a few minutes and I could not get it to play again. The other disc played like normal and resolution were 1080i as always. Player were the Hd-A1 with latest update and I have not had problems with any other films.

Any ideas on this?
